Best intake?
The first upgrade i plan on doing on my f22 will be an intake, but cant decide between Dinan, Afe, or Injen? i need a few opinions on which one is the best? or pros / cons, or if there are any other intakes i should consider, right now im leaning towards Afe, thanks!

Dinan is expensive
AFe is oddly expensive (not sure why) Injen seems to give some people some fitment/check engine light problems. I have the BMS intake and I'm very happy with it. Note: air boxes are air boxes; meaning air goes in. Most people with check engine lights get them because they have leaks that are usually due to the stock air tube not making an air-tight connection with the new air box. |

The intake on the new N55's are in a lot better of a position now than where they were prior, with cone's being basically right on top of the intake/engine. THAT's recipe for heat soak. With the new location, and BMW being good at directing air where they want it, I see no problem with it's current location. |

I put the afe intake on my car a few weeks ago and so far I'm loving it. Not sure if it added any real power but it makes a lot of cool noises. plus the fit and finish are very good!

Sure,
Performance: It's hard for me to pinpoint the gains from the CAI. My car has the stage 2 tune along with exhaust on top of the CAI. Sound: When I first got it put on I definitely noticed the sound. You can hear it sucking in air and the turbo sounds were a tad more noticeable. I also noticed my Dinan exhaust pops a bit more. Maybe its placebo...although others have reported the same. I will add that my car did idle a tad rough the first couple of days (specially the day after). That could of been either the tune or the CAI. Now the car runs great zero complaints. It also looks pretty good being that its CF. |

They will all give you around the same power gains with and without a tune. AFE, Injen and BMS sounds almost identical I would just go with the BMS or Injen because of the price.

Has BMS fixed the issue that causes error messages? And when you say the AFE sounds the same as the Injen and BMS, is the open AFE intake or the AFE Momentum you are referring to? Thanks |
