How fast can you take delivery and leave (European Delivery)

I don't want to take time off work, so the cheapest flights I found leave friday night, be in munich 1:10pm, and leave munich 7:15pm.

Is it possible to get to the welt, take delivery and do whatever paperwork I need to do, and get back to the airport by at most 5:30?

Google says train take 55 mins, so that would put me in the welt ~ 2:30, and need to leave the welt ~4:30. So I would have 2 hours.

If this is not enough time, what is? would 4 hours be good?

Also, wtf it seems like everytime I check ticket prices they go up.

I'm sure if you are picking up an ///M you can get to the airport pretty quick!

What's the point of doing the delivery if you leave the same day?

haha, I've contemplated this same thing before when I thought about buying an m-sport during winter. I think they need like 4-5 hours....which is dumb. even if I were staying in europe for 2 weeks, which I am planning, I don't want to be there but 2 hours

Yes, you can be in and out and be at the airport by 5:30-6:00. I don't know how your life is so I won't judge. However, most people would agree that if you can't even take some time off work to enjoy Euro Delivery, then there's something a little off.

It may be doable, but probably going to be really tight.
With ED, they'll pick you up from the airport and drive you to the Welt. I did an ED in June and recall the drive to me 20-30 minutes. My check in time was 1:50 and the ED started at 3:20PM. We went over to the museum while we were waiting. Great museum! It was probably about 4:15-4:30 before I drove out the door in the car. It was a model of German efficiency for sure, and everything was right on time but if something was delayed for whatever reason, you may have a problem. Also, you'll need to drop off the car as I don't think you can just leave it sitting there in the Welt (not sure where it is in Munich-I dropped off in Vienna). That took another hour, but that was with a 3rd party shipper who brought the car to Bremerhaven, so someone with info on a Munich drop would need to weigh in.

I would agree that if you can't take a few days to enjoy the car on the autobahn and the twisties in the Alps a little more than an hour away, that's too bad. One of the best trips I've ever had.

Munich drop off is next to airport. And they don't do weekend delivery.

I thought I remembered seeing that you could show up at the Welt and see your car and then leave it there.

I know it seems odd, but i'm mainly doing this to save money, and I want to save my vacation time cause I need to travel internationally for my brother's wedding + time off for PCD. Long story short, if I can do it without time off, it's the route to go for me.

I am pretty sure I've read it somewhere that its a 70 euro fee to just leave it at the welt, and they'll drop it off for you, and my CA did allude to that

Interesting. Didn't know that was ever an option.

Yes, this can be done for sure. Others have done it. You pay a fee and they drop it off for you. If you're short on time or it's the dead of winter and you don't want to drive the car, you can opt for this. That being said, you'll have to work with the ED department to make sure you are guaranteed a time that fits the window you'll be there, but I would always give yourself at least the full day to take care of everything, rather than landing at 1pm and leaving at 7.

I think you could do it though. You can get to the Welt just after 2pm with the courtesy shuttle, another hour for delivery, leave the car there and take a cab or train back to the airport, putting you at MUC at around 4:30-5? But this would mean no delays possible on the arrival flight, shuttle or train back and I think the two hour buffer is about the least I'd be comfortable with. If anything was delayed to cut that buffer, I'd start to get worried. Up to you though... it works for some people.

With doing a lot of traveling to Germany from North America for business the prices WILL increase due to your cookies. Delete cookies, or register a new IP Address and recheck airfares - you will see they automatically will drop! lol.

LOL The Welt is so nice!! I did remember I read most (or all) the dropping sites are not open during the weekend and I know PCD does not do weekend deliveries, so I assumed ED does not do it as well.

Bad induction practice...
