My ED purchase

Ok, so I will be making the trip on Friday 9/26. Will literally get off the flight go sign for the car, leave it at the welt, and get back on a flight to the US. Not looking forward to that, but we play the cards we are dealt. Any tips on sleeping in Heathrow would be appreciated!!!!

What I am looking forward to is seeing my precious

Not looking forward to the wait for PCD afterwards

Really looking forward to the actual PCD though

Got the car from David at Steve Thomas BMW. I have nothing but good things to say about dealing with him and his assistant Katie. 36month lease, 12k miles, 478/month. The build:

will update with pics, and trip report

Update:

So to answer the main questions,

1. Can it be done: Obviously yes! My plane landed at 10:10am and my flight out was 6:20pm same day.

2. Should it be done: NO! Unless you were in a very similar situation to me, there is so much that will be missed. I felt stressed the whole time worrying about how long this or that will take. Even though I was fairly efficient, I did lose about an hour off my schedule and had to skip the museum, was tired and the flight back was horrible.

If you are in an absolute rush, the minimum is just get there early and spend the night in Munich. Then leave the next day, and drive the car yourself to the airport drop off.

The whole experience would have been so different had it been an actual vacation with my wife or a friend. Even though I didn't actually do it, I can honestly say you will be glad you did. To top it off, do it on Oktoberfest and it will be one of the best vacations you can have.

3. Mineral grey with Oyster/Black: It was a risk, and I'm happy I took it. I fell in love with it the sec I saw it. It might not be for everyone, but the point is, do whatever you feel is right for you. Otherwise you will always wonder.

So now pics. Sorry for the quality, I didn't realize how bad they were till just now as I'm trying to find ones to upload. Should have taken a lot more. Another lesson learnt is that phone cameras, even with a Galaxy S5, will not do your shots justice. The lighting was also unfortunate as it is was a cloudy day. Hopefully my PCD pics will come out better.

First sighting of BMW once I got off the train.

Entrance.

The lounge

There she is!

Other eye candy

What might be my inspiration for the next car

The plan was to take my vacation time and actually enjoy my ED. However my brother decided to get married and I need the vacation time to attend his wedding in the UAE . There will be a lot of flying in the coming month.

I suppose I could have cancelled the whole thing all together, but the way I'm looking at it, I'm being paid ~$3500 to sit in a plane and airports for 2 days. Worth it? I don't know, we'll find out.

Damn that is $100 less per month than mine which has only a 50250 msrp. North Carolina obviously pays much less in taxes than Los Angeles county. I also rolled in my acquisition fee, which accounts for about $30 and I am doing 15k miles (another $30). Ahhh to live and die in LA. lol

Safe travels! I am leaving next week on the 2nd! Woohoo!

I look forward to seeing pictures of the interior, and even more so your thoughts about doing the ED purely for savings. I've been considering doing it myself (of course the lady wants to make a vacation out of it) because it can definitely save a decent chunk of change. Mind sharing about how much airfare was?

That's not bad at all really. Hope you can still enjoy it a bit. I've been back and forth on the oyster, what I really want is a grey interior...
Enjoy!

at the welt right now, and I have to say if I had more time, September is a great time to do a delivery. I wasted too much time at the airport so I won't even get to see the museum.

How much out of pocket did the lease cost you? For deposit, reg. fees, taxes, etc.? Under $500 month lease for those options is great monthly payment.

I guess I was really unlucky as far as timing. Left car at the welt 9/27, but they didn't hand it over to the shipping company till 10/8. And leaving for the US 10/24. That Is 4 Weeks
