I have an european spec 2015 220 delivered to Mexico and it does Not come with them. I think is more like a 15' thing.

Speaking of the cup holder... Is there a solution for when a skinny coffee tumbler is used to prevent it from sliding around the cup holder??

I'll ask a broader question. How is it that BMW's crack engineers can't seem to figure out cup holders? I have a MINI Cooper MCS and the cup holders are very small and in no way adjustable for various size cups (i.e. those rubber things that grab the cup and effectively adjust the size of the cup holder for the size cup inserted into it). I guess in the MINI it doesn't matter because only small cups fit into it at all. I recall having the same issue as the OP with the 335i I had prior to the MINI. It's not rocket science...it's cup holders!

When I picked up in Munich for ED, I noticed the inserts were not there. Perhaps this is something added at port processing?

I just received my '15 M235 and no cup holder insets. I certainly wish I had them since I don't drink in my car. If anyone wants to let go of some CHEAP it would be appreciated! Thanks!

For anyone who has these, would an iPhone 6 fit in the slotted right cupholder insert? I think the smaller slot is for the key... anyone care to share pics of stuff they store in there?

What do you guys mean by the passenger cup holder insert holding the key? I'm confused.... and do US spec models get the drivers side glove box too?

Yes, the smaller slot is for the key though I don't know why anyone wouldn't keep their key in their pocket! Not sure what the other slot is for but there is no way it will hold any size iPhone.

My iPhone 6 doesn't fit in either of the inserts. I've taken one out in order to put my phone there and left the key insert one.

Cup holder inserts used to be standard. Starting in 2015 they are not. (But my dealer supplied them free at my request) The right hand insert has two slots. The left hand insert has a cubby. Both of these are of limited utility, but I wanted them 'just because'!

It's discussed in other threads, but in this photo you can also see that the ashtray has been pulled out and replaced with a rubber insert making a deep cubby. This is also not standard in the U.S. delivered cars.

The dealer can order them. They come straight from Germany. Mine cost about $8.

Mercedes solved that problem. At least in my GLK 350. They simply designed the cup holders with springy tabs. It will hold a standard soda can, or a larger coffee mug. Simple enough. BMW take note.

Bmw did the same for the F10 and F13, and even my old E46. I guess this is bmws new way to cut costs!

For those that want 'em

Left (driver's side) cupholder insert: Part no. 51169257207

Right (passenger side) cupholder insert: Part no. 51169257208

Each are $16 at BavAuto; probably can be had for cheaper elsewhere (GetBMWParts doesn't have them, curiously).

I just ordered mine for my 2015 from BavAuto

pretty expensive for a cheap (could be free item) but whatever. I like the idea of having a place to put my key but we'll see once I get them if I actually even use them.
