2016 M235i 436M Orbit Grey Wheels

The 2016 BMW beta configurator is out. I ripped this pic from it to show an example of the newly available 436M Orbit Grey wheels (21U).

Pretty dark grey to me. It's black. Is that a $0 option?

Yes, $0 option. If you google bmw orbit grey wheels, you'll find several wheels that are two tone. The configurator makes them look almost black, but the wheels I've seen at the dealer (two tone variety) are like a charcoal metallic.

This is also an Orbit Grey 19" 442M from a 2015 435i Gran Coupe M-Sport.

Wish they looked like that. I don't particularly like the look of the stock M235i wheel in any color.

It's a very hard color to digitalize apparently.

I don't care for them personally.. and personally, I think the regular wheels are too dark too

I'm wondering how they will look with the estoril blue. Personally, I feel the current wheel color just has a bit of a dirty look to them when combined with EBII. Having less of a gun metal and more of a grey/black might be a better overall appearance. I'm looking forward to seeing some real pics!

Go for the contrast. Lighter wheels on darker color cars and darker wheels on lighter color cars.
Estoril is right on the border, I would not do orbit. I don't like either color on estoril actually (I like ligher silver on estoril).

Trying to picture them on MR (my likely color). Thinking they will look nice.

The regular wheels on the M235i are already a gunmetal grey. So the orbit great wheels had to be even darker than that, which means they're not going to be the same color as what's available on the 435i. Comparisons to the 435i orbit grey wheels are not accurate. They will be two separate colors. The picture in the configurator is accurate, they're just darker than what's available for the 435i.

About to order my M235i in Alpine White. Just to confirm, the "21U" style of the 436M wheels are the dark "orbit grey", correct? Looks like the standard color is a 2PG. Same style wheel, but does not say "orbit grey".

As a side note, I think they look badass. Had planned to take the silver wheels and get them powder coated black. Won't have to do that now (even though they aren't quite as dark as I would like).
