M2 owners will be pissed seeing videos of those multiple straight line runs showing the M240 hanging with and in some instances, walking away from the M2.

No doubt that the B58 engine is better than the tuned up N55 based on the pulls they were doing. But the M2 is superior in every other way and faster when the road turns

I dislike videos because it takes 40 odd minutes to get what I could read in 5 minutes. There are so many of them because it takes less work to stand there and blab away on camera than it does to write an intelligent article.

It's strange to me that BMW chose to use the N55 for the M2. Even though they did an amazing job tuning it and it is a totally different beast than that of my M235i, it would have made sense to use the B58 as is for the M2 and then have the M240's slightly detuned. This would have allowed BMW to progressively increase power in both models in future years.

Of course BMW knows this better than I do but I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of those boardroom discussions.

Maybe the M2 gts/csl/comp pack/LCI model that comes in later in a few years will utilise the new b58 engine instead of a tuned n55... Maybe
