JB+
So, I finally was able to check out the JB+ for the N55 engine(M235i 2016).Install was easy, except for dropping a small screw driver some where
under the engine.Took me over 2 hours with the help of a remote camera attached to a flexible shaft and magnet to recover! I should have known better, always put some old towels or what ever into all the openings near the place you work on. This was my first tune on this car ever. You never know what might happen by adding electronic circuits to the engine,ECU etc.Anyway, the engine started like always--Good--no trouble lights--even better. No stumbling or hesitation at idle or at red lights--Great--. Once I got out of NYC traffic and onto the LIE(495) I was able to do some testing. In a nutshell...I was really impressed!First I thought,it is just in my mind.Don't forget, the M235i is already pretty darn fast. But then my Butt Dyno started talking to me,and told me,you are really and for sure having more horses to horse around with.Mike, and you know who you are, this is a keeper.I can honestly say: $199 well spend. Can't wait till sunday to take her out again, and of course with my trusty new Escort IX to keep me safe from you know who. -Rommel42 |

So my Butt Dyno was right 155 mph plus your 3 mph =158 mph. Na,numbers are only part of the whole package. Anyway the acceleration feels really great. Not bad at all for a 2-Series auto. _Rommel42 |

for dealer visits (Warranty work).Talking about top speed...I don.t know how many forum members have been on the AutoBahn (Germany) where "No Speed Limits" are still in effect. It is a nice feeling to legally see what your car can do. One more thought about the JB+.Would I recommend to anyone?Yes.Heck,if one doesn't like it,one could return it within 14 days. _Rommel42 |

158 mph topping out 7th gear, I haven't had the chance to wind out 8th to see what top speed is yet, I think it can hit 180.
*I dont have a limiter.

Now,wouldn't it be nice to put you by magic on the AutoBahn, and see what 8th gear would do for you. This magnificent inline 6 would likely hit 180.Later. _Rommel42 |

you don't need to go to Germany... there are many places locally.
Its a dual slat, matte black grill with m stripes. I found it on a tuner site, ferget which one. You should come to one of our wed or friday meets. Wed @ Burger City Hempstead turnpike at 8pm. Fri @ Shake Shack Westbury @ 9. I usually go to Wednesday brought by BMWCCA and NYBIMMERS. We also have track days and dragstrip nights always lined up. Enzo Performance BBQ Oct2/ ATCO Oct 7 & 14/ Roll Racing @MapleGrove Oct 23 are the next group events.

Still looking for those grills,so far I have seen some on e-bay,from Taiwan of course for $109.But there look like shiny,I rather get matte.Anyway,d/loaded the instructions for the removal of the F type grill already. This one takes the top bumper torx screw removal route. My last E-46 was very easy to do,grill is part of the hood as you might know. _Rommel42 |

I'm on my 3rd grill.
If you dont care about whats in there now, just use a dremel tool to cut the slats. Reach in, pry the clips up, pull the grills off and slap the new ones on.

Fitted a JB+ yesterday...
Initial thoughts are: Turbo spool and the recirc valve certainly sound louder with the module fitted, this suggests to me more boost is being being built than before. I'm not 100% certain yet but I suspect under full throttle the MPE sounds a little louder too. The highly precise 'bum dyno v1.0' says there is about 10% more power / torque than before, it follows the same delivery curve as stock. There is no hesitation or lumpiness, the car drives the same as previously on part throttle. I need to take the car for a more vigorous test run, but first impression is good for such a low price and easy addition. |

Hi Rommel42, I am new to this. After reading all these test result, its really tempting to get one. Unfortunately I don't have the M series. I have a F10 535i. Really want to try put one in and see if it makes a different.
I have a few questions may be you have answers for me. For JB plus, does it require a minimum of 91 octane, here in los angeles I can hardly find 93 in my area, is 91 will still work ? Should I just leave the dial on default settings? If I adjust the dial to the max or 3'Oclock position, I will need at least 93 octane to make the car run properly. Right now my car drives fine just not happy with the gas throttle, I did use the sprintbooster a while back, it was fun and totally remove the latency from the throttle. Would this JB+ give you more responsive throttle like the sprintbooster does. I always feel the low end torque is very weak. When lights turn green, I see these Prius, Hyundai .. go pretty quick from start LOL. (or may be I am little easy on the gas, just feel why others are faster than mine). Any feedback or answer will be great. I really want to try one and see how fun it will be. Thanks Ced Quote:
