New Guy-ish

Hey gang,

Been lurking around here for a while. I ordered a 2017 M240i at the end of September. Production began October 11th and will complete on October 22nd. To say I am excited would be an understatement.

A little history: I had an e90 330i and an e90 335i. Both were manuals and both were a blast to drive! I had to stop leasing cars for a bit in order to save up for a house. To maintain my sanity and to still have fun, I bought a Subaru WRX. This decision was mostly due to their resale value being insane and the bang for your buck value. Over the last 6 years I have owned and sold 3 WRX's and 1 STI. Always for exactly what I bought them for. So I only really spent money on tax, lic, reg, and insurance for each.

I recently purchased my first home in June and now here we are. As my wife states, "you're getting back into a BMW and the universe is once again in balance." LOL

Late November or early December can't come soon enough!

So with all that, I say hello!

Welcome. Your situation sounds a lot like mine.

I've been lurking here for a few weeks now too since I put my order in on my 230xi on October 6th. My car was also put into production on October 11th. And the car I'm driving now is a Subaru Impreza.

My question to you is, how did you find out that the production on your car will be done on the 22nd? I'm hoping mine will be too.

Woah, weird! That is awesome. To answer your question, I called 800-831-1117. I asked to speak to a person and that person had more details. A few days ago when I called to see if the system would update, it did. The phone system now says estimated completion is Oct 22. Woo!

The waiting is the best, and the HARDEST part.. I followed mine daily on vessels and through the Panama Canal.. (And saved pictures like a complete psychopath a**hole taking shots of their child...)

Picking it up was like a Christmas that I dreamed about as a kid but never thought would happen while working at a shit job.

Regardless, congrats on the new house, an incredibly understanding Spouse, and please enjoy the build and ship time.. It's really the best part.

Thank you! The wait is both fun and a bit maddening. My third time through it. Good thing is, I found out today that my car has been handed off to a carrier and is on the way to the exit port!
