Shifting into neutral when moving by accident
When changing gears manually, I use the paddle shifters most of the time. But I use the gear lever when the steering wheel is turned to an extent that I can't keep my fingers on the paddles.
This is fine when I've pushed the gear lever to the left already. But sometimes, I use the paddle shifters when it is still in drive. And sometimes I forget the lever is not already pushed to the left. It's Ok if I'm trying to change up a gear - can't push the lever backwards when in drive. But if I'm trying to change down (by pushing the lever forward), I end up putting it into neutral. Is that very damaging to the gear box to change into neutral and then back into drive again when the car is moving? |
