I tend to agree. I don't have one just a mere 228ix which works for me. If you are into tracking the M2 makes sense. But the 240 can track, drive comfortably or change into Hyde and the body is more athletic looking. Not to mention the difference in price. If I were a young man again the 240 would be my choice. Just an old farts opinion.

I've been enjoying my 235i lately (6-speed + LSD). Sometimes it puts more smiles on my face then I anticipated. A year of ownership is usually a good test for me, if its not boring, then its a good car my 2007 335i 6-speed got a bit boring after 1 year and I dumped it for S2000

Best praise I can give the car - coming from someone who has bought 12 cars in the last 6 years - is that 26 months into 235 ownership I got rid of it for another one.

There is no better praise than a repeat customer.

After 18 months with mine, I still can't get over how it rides like a luxury car, but is as agile, responsive, and planted as it is. And the size is perfect for one or two.

I prefer the badass looks of the M2, but the M235/240i is all the car you need on public roads.

I have enjoyed my '13 128 M-Sport. Next spring will be decision time for me.

I was thinking about a 230, but more and more, I'm gravitating toward the 240.

I'm not getting any younger, and maybe it is time to say, "What the hell."

Of course, a stick. I can't say when I last drove an automatic. My knees still are a little sore from time to time, but I can still work the pedals.

Just gotta figure out the color/interior.

Had the M235i, have the M2 now - if we are talking sports car the M2 is another level, period. Its not about pure performance, its about the feeling, steering feel, gearbox, brakes...
But if you need an everyday car (wich is not the case for me with this car) the M235i, M135i, M240i, M140i is one of the best you can get.

I had 2 S2000's and they were not boring. Best bang for the buck for around 34K.

Wasn't it Car and Driver that tested the M2, M235i and 228i and preferred the 228i? My RWD 228i 6-speed with Track Handling Package seems just about perfect for an older guy like me. No tracking, just fun on the road when the right road comes along, and total, practical comfort and safety the rest of the time.

E92 335i was a bit boring, not S2000. S2k is a better drivers car then M235i, I miss that. Suspension, engine, transmission, steering all are better in S2000

My previous daily driver was a Z4 M coup for 8 years and it was a thrill driving it. Now after one year of owning the M235i, it does still put smiles on my face but the laugh lines are beginning to show.

I popped on Facebook this morning and it showed me a "memory" of 4 years ago. My Silverstone metallic s2000. I should have never sold that car.

Agree m235i is great but that s2k was on another level.

My S2000 was also silverstone with red/black interior. Fantastic car. They need to bring it back.

After getting my M240i in Estoril Blue with Coral Red seats, I can't imagine getting any other color combination. Just makes the car for me, and the brighter seats add interest and make it feel much roomier.

I had black leather in my coupe and red in the convertible. Red is much nicer IMO.
