M235i Panda Build-ish

Hi guys, my name is Ben. Long time VW / Audi guy, so I'm new to these forums. I purchased my 2015 M235i 6speed RWD back in october, and finally have some nice weather here in Wisconsin. I will use this thread to share the progress of the car.

As of today, I have purchased:

HR Sport Springs (installed)
ECS 15mm Spacers all around (installed)
M Performance Front Diffuser (being painted)
M Performance Rear Diffuser (installed)
M Performance Exhaust (installed)
ECS Carbon Rear Lip Spoiler
BMS JB4 (installed)
BMS Intake (installed)
iND Color matched front reflectors (installed)
iND Color matched rear reflectors (installed)
19" VMR v803 Hyper Silver (8.5 et35 front, 9.5 et45 rear)
Hankook V12 Tires - (225/35 Front, 255/30 rear)

Wheels are on their way. I will be selling the 15mm spacers and lugs as soon as my new wheels come, if anybody wants them.

Welcome to the forum. Strange I see no pictures in a thread posted within the Photos and Videos forum. Maybe it's my browser.

On, Wisconsin!

Nice build, can't wait to see pics of the wheels

I would have personally run diff tires sizes, specially since the hankook v12 run narrow. A 225/255 combo might be better IMO

Thanks! ha, funny you say that. I actually had the same conversation with my tires guy, and we made the switch to 225/35 and 255/30 yesterday. Thanks for looking out. Totally agree. I will post pics when I get them on within the next week or two.

So far so good. I had a weird little issue when I installed them. It felt EXTREMELY dangerous. My toe must have been really off in the rear because It felt like I was driving a boat. After alignment it was all good. I kind of wonder if the adaptive M suspension steers a little differently after the install, but its probably in my head.

It feels a little bumpy, but for the most part I'm pretty happy. And you're talking to a guy that ran very expensive coil overs on almost every car I've ever owned. BMW does a good job at making it pretty straightforward. Im happy with the springs and have had 4 people in the car with no issues.

Update

Here are some iPhone photo updates from last week!

iND parts installed. Huge shout out to those guys on the quality of the finished product. They arrived wrapped in micro-fiber towers and were flawless. Highly recommended.

Excuse the dirty engine bay. After I installed the intake I cleaned it all up. Winter in Wisconsin is brutal. Just purchased a VW Tiguan for my daily so I won't have to deal with that.

I also installed the JB4 and can post pictures if anybody wants. Install was very easy. Took probably 15 minutes. Tints go on tomorrow, wheels should be here this week.

Thank you! Im having a very bad experience with the tune. Terrible boost lag between gears. Fuel cutting on start up. Almost stalls the car. Probably going to remove the tune this weekend.

Some updates! Tires are here, just waiting on VMR for the wheels! Cant wait. Also, today I installed the M performance exhaust, the M performance rear diffuser, and took some photos of the tints, and color matched front reflectors. Love how the car is coming together so far! I also included a picture of the cut point for the exhaust install. I just rented the pipe cutter tool from auto-zone and spent about five minutes with it.... I then got annoyed by how long it was taking, grabbed a sawzal and went rambo on that sucker. Took about 12 seconds. I just chose to use my stock tips. I'll probably have some bigger ones custom made later this month. I think it looks nice with the black. I also test fitted the M performance front diffuser and HATE it black. Im going to paint the sides white and keep the actual splitter black. That should be ready within the next week or so.

Photos are all iPhone photos. I'll bust out my nice camera when the wheels are on and I can actually clean the car. The weather has been terrible here lately.

Some updates...

Took off JB4 and sold, took of BMS intake and sold.

Biggest issue was with the ECS spacers. AWFUL >> they made the car so unsafe and uncomfortable. They are now sitting in a box in my garage and I'll be getting some wheels.

VMR sold me wheels THREE times that were out of stock, so I took my money back and said forget it. I'll probably get some wheels soon, as its getting warmer out.

May you share the bad experiences with the ecs spacers? I'm assuming vibration?

Yikes about VMR. They usually have an up to date inventory.
