Sips Tea...
So if we won't see the M2 @ Geneva, when is a logical time for the concept to finally show up?

(Put the tea down and insert good info below please).

It could be just simple coincidence that they were posted on those dates though.... I'm still hoping for Geneva on the 5th!!

That would be superb! The closer to the Vision GT the better, I'd pay a premium for that exact car, colour, everything.

Not ashamed to say I'm too new skool (although on my 8th BMW ) that I had to look up the E9. This CSL version looked pretty amped!
Kinda like this one myself but it lacks the rear scoops.

I have to admit I had never heard of this car before, but seeing it and the GT vision and all the renders has me salivating even more for some real M2 info/ photos. Can't wait!!

The car is fresher, modern, and new but the wheels are off the shelf from the past. In any event, all is a matter of opinion and I would still love to see the car with some more current wheel designs.
I understand your point. I wish that they would use those black wheels that the mules use. But, as with the M3/M4 they don't or won't.

At this point I would still get the M2 and IF they made a CSL/GTS version in the future I would consider it. But chances of it coming to he States is probably pretty small. We never get any of the cool cars

OK, this post has me sitting up in my seat... If there is in fact a CSL/GTS version planned, please PLEASE put in a good word for us to get it sent to the US. We WILL buy it!

I remember that you had posted a pic with different renders and variations of the M2 on a poster. And there was one that seemed more realistic, yet race like, almost like the e9 Batmobile...hmmm.

You keep sipping that tea, and we keep sipping that Kool Aid that you keep providing us...
OH YEAH!

Yep, and he said that one of renders to imagine it with the fenders pushed in (for the street model), and no rear wing, the fenders not as prominent. Now, look at those renders. Don't those remind you of an e9 Batmobile? Look at where the guy in the white shirt's elbow is (render third down) and on the same level, but opposite (where the guy in the green jacket is)

Wait a sec...

The car in the most bottom right corner actually has a huge '///M' logo on the roof....

I'm not sure what surprises me most in this thread, the possibility of an M2 CSL version, or that some people have never heard of the E9 CSL.

Yes, also notice that is is less extreme than the Vision GT6. And look at the rear spoiler...the black part. Also look on the other side. The renders have street wheels. Makes you think, why would they render a car with street wheels on it? Unless there was a proposal for a street based car...or a more extreme version of a street base car, that has cues from an actual race car and an virtual one.
These renders look more production ready and less extreme than the GT6 one.

Your point being?

I "know" of it...maybe not down to the chassis code number but I don't see anything more worth knowing about. Frankly it looks like a boring 70's car. I appreciate that some folks aspired to have it when it was 1st released and thought it was the best thing since sliced German bread.

I didn't pop out until the late 70's so what do I know? I'm sure that some folks will think I'm a cave man for salivating at the Lime Rock M3...30 years from now.

So be surprised all you want. The car had it's time and place in BMW history.

Next!

P.S. The BMW M2 has already come and gone, as has the new M3. Look at the "tea-sipping-Kermit-the-Frog's" (i.e. Scott) signature and the future is already here..."electrified."

What we buy now or tomorrow is a means to an end for BMW to get to where it really wants to be...
Scott throws us a bone and we jump for joy, but he's holding onto the rest of the chicken and is yet to feast on it...
