People are comparing a BMW to a Porsche? In terms of performance they might be comparable lets say the M2 vs Cayman GTS or something but in price BMW goes against Mercedes and Audi not Porsche, Porsche is a completely different car. Again we can't make the same comparison the 335i/435i against the M3/4 than M235i to M2. Since the 2,3, and 4 series have 28i line its a better comparison, taking that into consideration we see that the price of a 328i is 61% of the price of a M3 (no options on either one) and a 428i is 64% of the price of a M4. With those factors we get the price of an M2 based on a 228i we get a price between $51,635-$54,109 hoping is more towards the 51-52 range but I think its going to be $53,000 including destination which is not too far from its US rival the CLA 45 AMG and almost the mid-point price between the M235i and the M3.

I'm excited for this but if the price is much above 50 for a stripper then I'll need to be sensible and wait to buy up a lease return like I always do. Here's to hoping BMW is serious about an entry-level M car...
