THP wheel/tire

Those with stock THP what’s the widest tire and wheel combo you have fitted without rubbing?

Is it possible that people with Track Handling Package don’t Autocross/track their cars?

I fitted Vorshlag camber plates to dial in more front camber, and that allowed me to fit a square 255/40 on a 17x9et42. It requires a 5-10mm spacer in front and niw I've got around - 2.4 degrees of camber.

If youre not adding camber, the most popular fitment is a square 17x8.5et40 with 245/40's

Swift Springs ~#250F/600R with a 1" drop. My Paragon Brakes rotor kit (stock size) very slightly changed my offset requirements. Im on stock dampers with Dinan Shockware recalibration.

Was it worth the it the recalibration for the magnetic shocks?
Is it stiffer, does it bottoms out on bumps?

The Dinan tune added some compression and dialed back the rebound a bit, which makes the car way more predictable in my opinion. The car bottoms out all the time (even when it was stock) so I feel the bumpstops are worthwhile as an upgrade because the car spends a lot of time on them

The OE suspension was competent enough for my skill level when I bought the car, so upgrading the plates, springs, bumpstops, and damper retune was a better and more economical path for me as I grew as a driver. I'll move to a motorsport-focused coilover eventually but the cost/benefit didnt justify it as a novice and I'm still happy enough with the current setup that im not rushing to swap it for coilovers until parts start wearing out.

How would you rate just the shock retune while keeping the factory spring?

I did plates first, then did springs, tune, and bumpstops at the same time so I dont have a specific answer. If you are experienced and can swing something like a Redshift Competition or KW Clubsport its going to have a higher ceiling for not much more money. I wanted to keep the variable dampers and see how far I could take them so I took a different route than most.

Do you(or anyone) know if there are any other stiffer springs that maintain the same ride height?

A company called MSS makes an adjustable height, EDC-compatible spring-and-collar system for the F22. I havent seen too many people opt for them because the cost and complexity puts them on-par with most entry-level coilover systems. MSS isnt very forthcoming on their spring rates, but claims to offer a "track" and "sport" oriented options. That should be enough to corner-balance the car like a coilover and keep it close to stock height while still retaining the EDC functionality as a middle-ground solution.

Ground Control offers a sleeve over height adjustable spring kit. Multiple F/R spring rates are available. I know it’s available for the F8x but it might be available for the F22. Addition of the rear weight jacker system keeps the rear spring from bending while compressing and makes changing the rear ride height easy.

MSS is popular on the F8x and G8x. As stated above, MSS refuses to release spring rates but their rear spring has a progressive triple spring rate.

Has anyone had a oil issues once high “Gs” are achieved with -3* to -4* front camber combined with today’s Super 200 TW tires?

Would an oil baffled oil pan be needed?

That seems odd.

The rates can easily be established by putting them on a spring tester. Of course, the product would first need to be purchased.

I have used that exact argument. Spring rates are easily established and so I’d the load-deflection curve of a progressive rate spring. They think their triple rate progressive spring is a secret. Not that you’d do it but a main spring coupled with two tender springs could be used to create a system with three different spring rates. MSS just won’t release spring rates. Doesn’t make sense.

230iZTR what is the part number for those Swift springs? I tried searching for them and only see applications for E90/92 335, M3, and F80/82 M3/M4. https://www.swiftsprings.com/loweringsprings/

Also, what bumpstops did you end up running?

I don’t see f22 applications listed for Swift Spec-R springs. None of the F8x spring rates match his quoted F/R 250/600 lbf/in rates. Do f8x springs fit f22 dampers and top mount? I know f8x MCS 2WR dampers and GC camber plates fit f22 240ix but I don’t know if the f22 and f8x stock springs have the same upper and lower spring diameters and spring length.

Which MCS suspension setup are you running? I’m running MCS 2WR with F/R 500/800 lbf/in rates (divorced rear).

Its the F3x 335i/340i m-sport spec. P/N 4X915R. They don't seem to be listed on Swift's website anymore, perhaps discontinued? 3DM has them listed at 251F/605R which seems close enough.

Interesting. Every website that had them now shows “page not found”. It’s surprising that Swift would just stop production unless they had issues with the springs? Have you asked 3DM is they’re still able to order them? Harold at HP Autosport is another good source to check with. He once had them listed on his site.

That's where I bought mine back in 2018. Harold was great to work with.
