JB4 USB cable routing through firewall help

Has anyone been successful in feeding the USB cable from the JB4 unit through the fire wall?

I've seen some guide for the e92 but nothing for the f22 or f30.

Thanjs

My solution looks like:

1. break down the DB9 connector using a small screwdriver and a DSUB tool so you have a few wires with pins on the end instead of the DB9
2. drive/fish a wire hanger through the firewall grommet from the engine bay into the passenger footwell
3. tape the JB4 pins tightly to the end of the wire hanger in the footwell
4. drag the wires back into the engine bay through the grommet
5. re-assemble the DB9 connector

The USB connector was just too hard for me to drive though 2 layers of grommets in the M235i. The reverse worked like a charm (twice).

A Google Search might also help:

Hey Rwalker

I saw your guide but I don't have the DB9 extractor tool.

I guess I will have to get one in order to get this installed.

Was just wondering if someone else was able to do it another eay
