The upcoming 2 series will definetely be my next ride..
I have been dreaming about the possibility of an M2 GC which would be the perfect "Do it all -- DD, Track, comfort, convenience, and performance" car for me..

Unfortunalety, every report I am reading is suggesting that the M2 will only be available as a Coupe
It's like E46 330 ZHP Sedan Vs. E46 M3 all over again !!

So I was just wondering, for anyone else out there whose dream ride is an M2GC, would you eventually chose an M2 Coupe or an M235 GC or something else all together?

I would imagine the price difference would not be that big since the GC would be priced higher than the M235 Coupe anyway and probably not much cheaper than an M2 Coupe

A BMW Motorsport presenter at an M event described M cars as ground up developments of Series cars with up to 90% of the parts being different. I have an E82 135i M Sport, the predecessor to the M235i. It's a great car that's quick and very enjoyable. It's more fun to drive in the twisties than my E60 M5 was. My 0-60 is well under 5 seconds with the power package. But, it's NOT an M car. It's a Series car with goodies. The sum of its parts is what sets a well balanced M car apart. A drive in a 1M Coupe would make that abundantly clear.

Just my .02

P.S. I loved my '74 2002 tii, but these cars are in a different league in terms of performance.

Well since that thread, the M2 GC has been confirmed, it just won't be available anytime soon sadly. I'm thinking an Audi S3 may have to fill the gap until then for me.
