10k 335 you're looking at a N54 which imo is the most unreliable bmw motor. Esp if it's modded and with higher miles.

I'll trade you my 335 for your Z06, then you can keep the MS6!
I keep checking your sale thread on SVTP in hopes that one day you will lose your mind and offer the Z06 for free for the first caller! Serious answer time: I love the MS6, it is an excellent sleeper that offers more creature comfort than one would expect. As far as getting to the power level you want, you know have to spend money on a thorough build for power and reliability. Modifications do not add value to a car, so you will obviously put more into the project than the car is worth. My concern is whether you will sacrifice the sleeper and comfort qualities in doing so? An N54 is equally reliable stock/modified with regard to the known weak spots, but modification into 400-500+ whp territory will ask you to be diligent with maintenance and diagnostics. I love my 335 and am absolutely biased towards it as a daily driver pseudo-sleeper.

Hey- I know you TiGray here
Shop carefully and you'll be fine- devil you know is always nice, but soon enough a new-to-you ride will take on that same level of reliability, or at least consistency as long as you start with a decent example. Either a long published history you can follow from one of the forums, for example, if you want an already modded car, otherwise stock is probably a better starting point. My Speed sold fast and at high value because of it's known history. FWIW my 135 is effortlessly quick, easily as fast as or faster than the Speed and that's really on just an OTS tune- my "mods" really aren't particularly performance oriented. The Speed was bolted & tuned to the edge, and although fast & fun there was nothing even remotely effortless about it! (Speed on 93 pump was ~350/350, the 135 is ~340/370) Not to mention the Speed's ECU seems like it was designed by an autistic child in comparison to the coding that can be done with the BMW... Kinda wish I'd have made the transition a few years ago when I first started looking around.
