Two rear tires needed for lease return in OC (245-35-18)
Hey guys, I am returning my 14 M235 this Sunday and getting an X1 for my fiancee while I await my turn for an M2. The pre inspection revealed that my rears are below the required 4/32 of tire depth. I am looking for two take off rears with enough tread to pass inspection and save me the $200/tire BMW will charge me. Anyone looking to unload their take off rears? I'll pay $50 per tire. I am in Orange County CA Thank you Ramos |

Yes you can buy used tires from a member for possibly under $100 each, but you are still going to be paying to have them mounted and balanced.
I'd try used tire places that offer free mounting and balancing when you purchase from them before trying to find tires on here. |

I know it sucks to pay for new tires on turn in, but that's part of cost of a lease. Maybe try for cheapo tires in the CA regional forum unless you're looking to pay for shipping as well.

As long as the tires are matched and have the right amount of tread your good. There is a company that has several locations, at least in Florida, Mr. Goma tire they do them super cheap and mounting is $15. Im sure there is someone like this in CA.

You might call around to local tire places - they'd probably be happy to take some cash for takeoffs that otherwise are headed to the recycler. On such short notice, they would also be more convenient for the switch. IIRC, you would at least need tires with the same load rating and runflats, if that is what you are replacing (might want to verify through dealership, if you are putting on something different). May turn into more work than the savings are worth.

Thanks for the input. I am looking at all options.
To correct what was said above, The tires do NOT have to be matching at lease return, they just need to be the correct size and speed rating. For the M235 any Y speed rated tires will do. Of course they have to be at a minimum tire depth of 4/32 |
