AWE Touring Exhaust Installed On My M235 Vert!
Wow, This exhaust really sounds great on my 'vert, especially with the top down. At cold start it is really quite loud but settles down some after a bit. At low rpms and with the trans in auto mode the exhaust is only a bit louder than stock, but if I use some revs, and the paddles, in manual mode, this exhaust really wails. At highway speeds there is a nice murmur but definitely no drone. It is just about perfect. The best part is that I can now hear the exhaust w/o having to be in sport mode. I chose the smaller black chrome tips and they seem to be of very very good quality.
Overall, I am very pleased. I am located near Allentown, PA if anybody would like to hear it in person. |

Nice choice! I had an AWE exhaust for my Gti before and really enjoyed it. They really have quality products and really was thinking about getting this for the 2 but had a MPE exhaust port installed. Wish you were closer so I can hear it in person.
Glad to hear you are happy with your choice |

If I leave the trans in auto, the exhaust sound is present but not obtrusive in any way (to my ears). Getting on it lets her howl. The best fun though, for that aural pleasure/orgasm, is in manual mode, sport, and letting the revs rise w/o having to use full throttle. Driving in the rev range from 3000 to 6500, up and downshifting, is like a symphony of automotive performance. The pleasure of braking for a corner while simultaneously downshifting and then giving a good shot of throttle through the apex, pulling a slight drift out to "track out" is immensely augmented by the accompanying REAL sound of the exhaust. Hmm, I just read this post to my wife and she said it sounds like a romance novel. If you are a car guy, you just might love a good exhaust sound!! |
