I have this on order... may take 2 months for it to arrive though :'(

I like to protect the key too... sometimes the thing gets mixed up in my pocket with other keys and I don't like it being mangled up in there.

What does me having the vehicle yet have to do with anything? Stop trolling

Besides, a lot of us have bought stuff for the car before it arrived and the best place to find out what works best or not is on the forums where people have the first hand experience.

I ordered this one.
It's an official BMW part.
2 things,I like it to look good and it's in my pocket and somehow I've been pressing the trunk release as I get in.
This is the one I have and has held up pretty well for the last 9 months. I'm very satisfied with it.

OEM seems like it would flip out if I dropped it so I've gone for something with a bit more protection.

Yea I like that clip on one. It's the same as the carbon fiber one on page 1. Was worried about it scratching the key still like some snap on cases do to phones.

No worries with this one as it is screwed together so I'm saved from any scratching by clips

This is hilarious. I just traded my Jeep for a 228ix. I can only imagine the comments I would get from my Jeeping buddies if I told them about this post. Jeeps don't have key covers. LOL!!!

If I was buying a jeep or a trunk for off road use, yes, I would expect some scratch or gouged keys. If I'm buying an on road vehicle, I'd expect it to be more pristine. Even still though, I used to have a truck and I did take it off road and through the mountains of Tennessee and I still made sure I took good care of the keys.

The difference between almost all of the jeeps (not sure if any are push button start) is that the key sits snuggly inside the ignition. It'd still be out of my pocket though while driving. The bmws with push button start means that I either have a big key in my pocket while driving now, or I put it somewhere out of my pocket. So why not put a key case on it to keep it pristine?

Oh and here's your jeep key cover: https://www.amazon.com/KeyGuardz-Rub.../dp/B00HVIGLBG

No more ridiculous then the posts on avoiding drilling holes for the front plates. However, everyone should be able to post what they want.

Hrmpphh. My trunk also "mysteriously" opens, so I've been tempted to grab a full cover. Problem is this fob already seems bulky, I can only imagine wrapping it in an additional layer.

Do you guys still keep these in your pocket? Must look like an egg down there.
