2018 m240i LCI f23 convertible wind deflector storage?

Does the 2018 m240i f23 convertible have a wind deflector storage space like the 440i f33 convertible??? (on the 4-series theres a small compartment in-between the rear fold down seats and the passthrough boot, see attached image.)

If not, where do f23 owners store their wind reflectors (aside from just throwing it loose into the boot?)

I've actually been looking high and low for anything that could repurposed to use as a hard case for the wind deflector. I don't want to throw mine in the trunk and worry about it getting messed up - they're not cheap.

Worst case come spring I have a audio shop that's going to make a shallow box to cover it with.

Please keep me posted, would love to see what you come up with. I was thinking of maybe getting the cargo net and slipping it under that?..

Garage List
It comes with a storage bag and folds in half and slides into the bag. During top-down motoring season, I keep my wind deflector mounted and use it frequently. On the rare occasion when I might need to access or use the rear seat, I will fold the wind deflector and put it in the trunk in the storage bag. During the winter when there's little or no chance I'll need it, I just store it in the bag on a shelf in garage.

Will do. The storage bag is better than nothing but if you keep the deflector in the trunk you can't really put anything on top of it or put the cover on top of anything else without risk of damage. I basically want either a case or have someone fab a false floor to put on top of the deflector so I can use the trunk in a normal fashion and not mess up a $600 part.

I hav mine in and out quite frequently with the dog as a weekly but not daily passenger. He rides in back.

I have the case under the cargo net, but keep the deflector installed. If I did put it in the case, I reckon I'd still put it under the net. I guess I'll need to remember to worry about it if I put it away and then put something in the trunk. It's pretty flat, though so I wouldn't expect damage from a small suitcase or anything like that ...

During the delivery experience on my M240i with the BMW expect or whatever they are called this past November, she mentioned there was a hidden storage space for the wind deflector. I should have asked her exactly where this hidden space is since I can’t find it nor can I find my wind deflector.

Glad I saw this thread today, I called the dealer, they said there is no hidden compartment and that the wind defector should have been in the trunk, folded and protected by its case and in a sealed thick plastic packaging bag.

My replacement is now on order, the dealer wanted to charge me since their checklist said the item was in the car at time of delivery, after several minutes of a heated response they opted not to charge me and have it shipped directly to my home.

Having had a 1er ragtop for 6 years, a 228i ragtop for a almost a year and the M235i ragtop for 2 +years, storing the windscreen when not in use is a bit of a PITA.
When in the trunk, whether in the storage bag or not, it tends to slide around a lot and there's always a risk of it getting damaged by other stuff that needs to go in the trunk periodically.
Don't know why BMW and the great German engineering minds couldn't have come up with a simple sleeve to hold the windscreen attached to the trunk partition tray (as in my pic below). That would not only protect the windscreen, but also allow space below it to become useful.

I thought if the same exact thing but couldn't quite figure out how to execute it. Think possible to retrofit some tie down (or tie up I guess) straps?

I didn't want to add weight though and damage one part while trying to save another.

I still think a false floor of some sort is easier for an after the fact diy project since top up, down, whatever the floor is always fixed.

Just had a brain storm but need to take some measurements tonight - will keep you guys posted. If I can pull it off it won't be the prettiest thing in the world but cheap and highly functional.

You people have it all wrong! There is a hidden storage space for the wind deflector. But, it is hidden! If you could find it then we couldn't call it a "hidden wind deflector storage space".

Ahhhhh, now it makes more sense to me on why this hidden compartment was never reveled to me during delivery, [face palm] go figure...

So when I receive the replacement in the mail, its bonus time for me, if I can find this hidden compartment, with said "hidden wind deflector" it's eBay time and quick cash for the duplicate.

I don't have a vert, but is it possible to fold and put under the trunk floor?

Gave the pic you posted a second look and realized that the 440i cabrio storage area would have been of no use to me during the past 9 years of 1 & 2-series ragtops ownership because both back seats had to have either child car seats or booster seats while the grandkids were young, so removing them and/and or storing them would have been more of a problem than storing the windscreen. So for young families with kids and for geezers (like me with grandkids, storage behind the rear seat is kinda useless.

So call me crazy, but... interior dimensions are pretty spot-on for holding the wind screen. I plan to add some Velcro tape to the rails to attach to the floor of the trunk. I have a BMW trunk liner but for those with no trunk liner you could use just the hook side of the tape. So the plan is place wind screen in case on trunk floor, cover with this as a lid of sorts. No it's not pretty but it should get the job done, and for under $20 shipped I can't imagine finding a lower cost solution. Plus it's commercial so should take a beating. Will be able to get wind screen in trunk and throw brief case, dry cleaning etc. in there and not worry.

Well and it can perform dual duty for those many occasions where you have to transport a bun-load of ... buns.

Ok guys - as promised not sexy but works really well. For $20 I'll live with it. Trunk floor isn't perfectly flat, neither is wind deflector, but I threw a bunch of stuff on top of this and it flexed down and did the job perfectly. Will get some Velcro straps to secure to my strut brace and lock the whole thing down. No liner you could do the same to hooks.
