Thinking about going to a M235i from N54 e92
Hey guys so I'm selling my e92 this weekend and to say the least I'm a little sad. I have the FBO, stage 1 turbos with inlets and outlets the car feels amazing but I want something a little smaller and well just less miles.
I have a truck also, so no need for snow driving. Have any of you made this jump and got disappointed? I'm also looking at a couple c63 AMGs Or just waiting a bit until the M240I cars come off lease. This will be the first car I finance so for me it's a big jump. Basically I am asking about that thing that bothers you sometimes when you are driving, like I with i actually had a 435i or I wish I just waited for the 240i.

Hey man, I was in your shoes back in May. I had a 2008 E92 335 with FBO and now have a 2014 M235i. I was also in the market for C63's. After owning the M235i for 7 months, i can tell you that i am not disappointed with my decision. The M235i is a blast to drive and always puts a smile on my face. Only thing to note about the M235i is the high offset wheels it has to have.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I might hold out a little longer then and wait for some of the 240i cars to become cheaper.
With the TC issues do they not allow you to turn it all the way off or are you just saying you can't fit a big tire in the back? I can currently spin my rear tire in 3rd gear with my car and that's with MPSS in the rear.

I second this... traction control is on point sometimes but other times robs the car from full potential. Deactivating all Traction control leaves the throttle response dull and takes away from the experience. I believe after OBD flashing becomes more prevalent throttle may be altered with no TCS. This would be a nice option moving forward with a LSD. All in all the M235i is great bang for the buck and is an awesome car especially at FBO... I think it's a good decision givin the prices you can find them at now. Good luck..!

I sold my 08 335 FBO in October. I've been going back and forth between the E92 M3 and M235i for the past few months and finally pulled the trigger on an M235i with a 5 year bumper-to-bumper warranty a few days ago. Couldn't be happier and fall more in love with the car each day that goes by. I knew the 240i was out but theres just so much available for the N55 and this platform already that I think there will be plenty to keep a smile on my face. Already have the first modifications in the mail

The car(s) are virtually the same, less the cosmetic LCI changes in '17 and the B58 engine. If you like to mod your cars, I feel the m235i would give you best value over the m240i, at this stage in the game. The N55 is a very stout platform to mod, it's got about a 20-30% more power available with basic bolt-ons, and a less complicated intercooler configuration with no secondary cooling system components. Can't go wrong either way, though!
GL on your search!

As much as I would love to get C43 or C63....I don't trust MB with reliability. BMW came in 5th in reliability according to consumer reports and 2-series is their most reliable model. If I was buying new, I would pick C63, but it's like double the price when loaded
