MHD Tuning...

BM3 has made some strong progression and advancement on the f series, that being said I am almost sure MHD Tuning was said to maybe be close to a OBD flash available sometime in early part of 2018. Can anyone verify this or is this a long way off from happening, if ever. I know that the N54 community has enjoyed the many benefits of this flash, without the process of ECU removal.

Yes, from everything I've read on the M2 and 3 series forum, OBD2 flash tuning is in the beta testing phase with MHD and another company (name escapes me). I'm sitting on the sidelines watching it and will see how it goes. I'm thrilled this is becoming an option (assuming it's reliable) and once Cobb figures out how it was done, I'm hopeful they'll jump on board too. I'd recommend giving it some time once the product is out to market so that all the bugs are worked out.

I would wait on the flash tuning until OBD becomes widely available and as XutvJet said Cobb will probably join as well

its going very exciting have Cobb vs Bm3 vs MHD

I wonder if you'll be able to go back to your stock DME and if it'll be detectable.

COBBLE COBBLE FTW!

Although, I'm heavily biased since I owned an Accessport for 10 years.

MHD is currently in "BETA" phase and participants are already installing OBD Flash tunes and providing feedback as they develop and refine their OTS tunes.

My understanding is that to reset the flash counter on the DME you still have to remove the DME and bench flash it.

So to take it back to "stock" you still have to remove it. One reason I haven't gone this route yet.

If Cobb gets on board it may encourage me to keep the car a little while longer

I'd definitely be down for a Cobb tune.

I’m in the MHD beta group.

My car is FBO with a lp fuel pump with a pure stage 2 turbo.

Right before Christmas my tuner (wedge performance) asked me to bring him my car for the final version of the app (I think... this conversation was had with my fiancé and I heard it 2nd hand). They’re very close to being out of beta.

I’m so happy with the last set of adjustments he made on my car. I cannot really compare to other solutions since I’ve only had this.... but my car is exactly how i wanted it. It’s crazy fast when I get on it... but I’m able to drive it around town with no drivability issues.... at lower rpm’s it feels and handles like a stock car.

I should add that i did pull my ecu for him to unlock it many months ago...... but you’re correct.... it won’t be necessary.

Did you ever get a tune while you were just FBO without the Stage 2 turbo from Pure?

You sure you're part of the same/current beta? Didn't you get yours before they even offered the closed beta? I always thought yours was more of a one-off custom tune and what's going on now is the OTS closed beta testing.

I'm in BETA also. MHD just released the first set of maps to BETA testers.

Hmm, I wonder how many of us F22s are in the closed beta testing..

@ChrisFulton - what mods do you have and which map are you testing?

I have yet to install the initial flash as I am waiting on delivery of my Pro-K+Dcan Cable. I have a cable that I think will work, but I'll just be patient and wait for the superior cable.
I will then go directly to Stage 2+ (91 octane).
I have intake, sport-cat downpipe, axle back exhaust, upgraded intercooler/charge pipe.

On what device did you install the app?
How long did it take you to install the initial flash?
Did you use one of the higher quality cables?
Did you put the car on a battery charger?

I've not done anything yet either, but was going to try flashing this weekend. You're making me rethink trying it out with my generic cable, lol. I used it successfully to obtain my FSC but that's the only time I've used it. I figured it'll just be slower if anything. I'm also still waiting for my IC to ship, so stage 2 map for now. I think I'll be using it on my Galaxy Note 3, assuming I can get it to work. What device are you using?

Tempted too on my old cable, but don't want to spend excess time and risk getting an incomplete initial flash and then start over, etc . . .
Going to use my new Pixel 2 phone.
IDK but it seems to me you could probably safely go straight to 2+ in anticipation of installing the upgraded IC.
Let's keep in touch!

Actually, I just remembered, I got my FSC using the enet cable. I used the generic USB OBDII cable to code my E92. Hmm... Either way, when I connected it to the OBDII port and the phone, it was able to read the ECU fine on the MHD app.

Hi guys i got my cable last week, Bimmergeeks Pro Cable. I fully charged the battery yesterday using 10a, and trickled it at 2a. I put a 1.2a battery tender on it. All in all, the first flash to unlock it, using the MHD stage0 map took about 26-27 minutes total.

The bad news is i read a DME tamper code 201101 after the flash. I would hold off on flashing your car until MHD fixes this. I thought it wasn't a problem in this version. Ignore the other codes in my attach images, i had my front suspension apart, and all the plugs out for sensors.

Any response from MHD?
First I've heard of someone getting a tamper code.
