I too wanted to replace the Dinan air filter with another aftermarket brand but I couldn't find any from the bigger brands (K&N, AEM, etc) that were a direct replacement. It looks to be a custom filter designed by Dinan.

Just curious why do you want to replace the Dinan filter element? I have the Dinan intake, and from what I have read the element can be cleaned and replaced.

i just replaced my dinan CAI filter yesterday. Noticeable power gain since filter was nasty after being on the car for 2.5 years.
The problem i see is, its not just a filter, its attached to a tube thats slanted. Most important when changing is not to loose those clips, one fell into the engine bay and I probably will never see it again. Other than that it was very easy and should take less than 10 mins. I picked up the new filter from turner motorsports when they had 15% off Dinan.

Personally I prefer to over-maintain and as such I swap the filters for summer/winter (harsh Canadian winters.)
Therefore, I wanted to see if there was another option for air filters, they become fairly dirty. Regarding the K & N filters being over oiled...yes however, I partially dry them prior to putting them on my other turbocharged cars. The clips that come with the airbox are very fickle, I had one fall in the engine bay...spent the next 45 minutes with a light and telescopic magnet trying to find said part. Eventually I was able to find the clip in the wheel well. |

For group knowledge, I confirmed with Green Filter that they make the Dinan filters and so you should use the blue kit to clean it.
https://www.greenfilterusa.com/store/2802 My replacement filter came with cleaning instructions that looked an awful lot like Green Filter's but blue: http://www.greenfilterusa.com/files/...r-cleaning.pdf |
