Talking OBD Flash Tune From Active Autowerke **No ECU REMOVAL REQUIRED**

Can be done from home with the use of the Simon Cable.

You still have the option to send your ECU to Active direct if you do not wish to purchase the Simon Cable.

Active Autowerke offers unparalleled performance software. Through careful remapping of the factory BMW DME tables, various elements such as ignition timing, fuel delivery, and part throttles are reworked to create performance gains.
The Active Autowerke upgraded software is designed to operate with gasoline that has an average octane rating with full emissions to create a clean burning combustion with good AFR’s all within factory specifications.

Available Options:
  • Cold start delete
  • Stage 1 or Stage 2 maps for 91-93 octane
  • Off Road Only Downpipe Map
  • Burble Option
  • Tuner flag removal
  • OBD Flashing Option

Performance Specs:
  • Up to 80hp gains : Rear wheel HP measured on the dyno

This is an OBD flash tune, no need to remove the ECU

Attention Florida Customers: If you are local to Active Autowerke (9940 SW 168th Terrace, Miami, FL 33157), there is no need to purchase the Simon Cable. All you need to do is purchase the map from Extreme Power House and drive down to AA for a free install.

***EDIT***

Dyno from a customer.

Car mods: Catless Downpipe

Note: Car is using stock intercooler. Temps were going over 180 degrees on high RPM which caused the ECU to cut power.
A car with a quality aftermarket intercooler will make even more power on high RPM.

Same customer, same day same car with Active A piggy.
Im posting this A8 dyno to showcase the power delivery difference between the Active flash and their piggy.

F30 335 Stock (With Downpipe) vs Active Autowerke OBD Flash Stage 2 +65whp / +109wtq

Man, it's all coming out of the wood work now. Exciting times.

Starting to feel like a lot of "me too" going on now. I'm gonna wait to see how it all shakes out.

Active Autowerke haven been tuning BMWs since the 80s.
They have also been flashing the new chassis for more than a year but never released the software until an OBD solution was available.

Their maps are the same (tested on a large number of FL BMWs), the only thing that changed is the way you upload it.

I have their AA8 module, so I trust them as a company. I'm just going to wait and see which one comes out on top and has the best combination of software and features for my needs.

In theory, they should all have access to the same features/parameters since they're all using OBDII. The difference would only really be in the tune or the mapping side of the engine parameters that affect how the car runs. Well, that and the UI, I guess.

Just curious, are there any info on if the OE flash data remains intact or if it will trip the counters and whatnot?

All OBD flash will trip the counter... You can always remove it in the future send it to Active and they will take care of that for you

I can see them resetting the counter back to the default value since that should be a known value, but what about the time stamps? How would they know what the original time stamp was before it was overwritten with the new time stamp at the time of OBD flash?

Thats a question better answered by AA

That being said, it all does not matter.
If BMW wanted to really dig and know if you had a tune, they will know with or without the counter register.

Dyno from a customer.

Car mods: Catless Downpipe

A car with a quality aftermarket intercooler will make even more power on high RPM.

Same customer, same day same car with Active A piggy.
Im posting this A8 dyno to showcase the power delivery difference between the Active flash and their piggy.

That is nuts. Almost 40whp difference between flash and piggyback tune.

Whats more impressive is how smooth the Active flash power delivery is

That torque though.... they might as well sell rear wheels and fender flares with it, that is going to roast the stock 245s

I found this in AA website
" Your ECU must be taken to an approved Active Autowerke F3X dealer for the initial flash, or it must be shipped to Active Autowerke before you are able to load our maps with a Simon 3 cable from your home."

Do we need to send our DME for initial flash?
Please explain Mike.
