I have to disagree with you on this. An ET35 on the front is very aggressive fitment, even with a 225 MPSS. An ET45 on the rear surely pokes, even if just a few mm.

I didn't say that it wasn't aggressive and I didn't say that the rears wouldn't poke, I recommended it as tried-and-true as there are many guys on the forum using those exact offsets with no issues. Everyone has their own idea of what works for them and what they can live with in a staggered fitment. I personally don't like when there is poke or stretch. That being said, I really do like the fitment on your car. I would say the best yet! However, as you know, the higher the offsets, the limited selection of wheels there are on the market.

I suppose you're right. Options are definitely limited so I understand where you're coming from. I personally wouldn't recommend those sizes/offsets as an "off the shelf" type fitment is all I'm saying.

Thanks for the kind words!

One thing I've noticed is the lack of push or understeer with the meatier front tires. Even in the rain it's very noticeable. Car just grips.

The 265s in the back really make the rear feel planted and glued as well. It's very noticable.

I think the front fitment is perfect. It's flush and looks great. Will probably look better when I get the M3 LCAs on.

The rear, like I've said, poke a little. Nothing I can't live with. Glad I saved the $500+ over getting them pushed in 5mms.
Can't wait for the weather to clear up.

I'd like to see your setup in person, car looks great!

Nice adidas pants!

You still want to meet after school for a session?

I brought the cardboard and Lil Mickie has the boombox.

Wrong crew. I usually roll with Russian gangsters. Full jumpsuit.

Real reason: was coming out of PT at the time.

Hey man, how are the rear offsets working for you? Do you have pics? I was thinking of running this exact setup but with 255 section in the rear.

Is the 5mm spacer for a better stance or is it needed to clear inner suspension components or brakes? I'm looking into getting the same specs from Apex and would love to know if I could run them without spacers.

Thanks in advance!

*EDIT I continued reading the thread and found the answer lol

It wasn't optional, I NEEDED it. I'm still really close at the front.
The ET38 might actually be a perfect fit but also I think it might be weird to have concave front and flat rear.

Do you think a 18x8.5 et35 wheel with 235 tires would rub in the front? I'm lowered on H&R Springs.

I don't have the car anymore, but the 19x9.5 et45 with 265/30 worked PERFECT for me, it sits flush as flush can get!

You can go with 255 but I loved how the 265 fitted and filled up the space... the extra grip is nice too

I'd be surprised if it didn't rub

That's good to hear. Got 19x9.5et44 on the way with 265/30s sitting at home to be put on. 1mm will be unnoticeable I think of poke.

I think it has to do with the tire to be used too... but should be fine... it was a tight fight when suspension was all the way up, but zero rubbing

I'll be on stock suspension (no plans on lowering) and running Continental DWS06 all around. They don't run as wide as MPSS from my understanding and based on my measurements, they won't rub the suspension either so a little poke but nothing big.

Thinking about 245 40 18 square setup on 18x8 et42 wheels with m3/4 LCA. Anyone know if this is possible?

Running 235/35/19 MPSS on 19x8.5 ET40 front, lowered on coilovers but not what I consider "slammed" and I got substantial rubbing on the fenders. Definitely will need to get the fenders rolled to be safe.

I know someone that is running 245/35/18 on 8" wide wheels (unknown offset, but he has experimented with spacers) running Hankook V12s. He had to roll the front fenders and it still rubs once in a while. I don't know if the LCA would help or not because although it gives more negative camber, it also pushes the wheel forward potentially rubbing on the fender well.

Hi Guys,

After my last trackday at Francorchamps, I definitly need another set of tires for the next session.

After reading all posts of this thread, here's what I intend to put on :

Front : 235/40/18 Yokohama AD08R on 18x8 ET42 wheels
Rear : 255/35/18 Yokohama AD08R on 18x9 ET42 wheels

your opinion please, especially if you go on track.

The rears will poke out quite a bit more than the fronts, depending on the look you want, Et 48 or so in the back should allow the biggest tires. Dinan recommends 265/35/19 tires on their 19x9 ET48 rear setup.

The look is of 2nd importance to me, 1st being ability to fit semi-racing tires on my rig and reducing understeer by fitting larger tires at the front.
If semi racing tires existed in 245/35/18, I would put that size at the back, but Federal is the only option in that size (in europe).
I guess it comes down to how much closer to the struts I can afford at the back, and you say 8,7mm closer will clear, right ?
