Hello all, last month I picked up a used 2015 M235i. The car only had 20k miles on it when I bought and it appears to have meticulously maintained by its prior owner. Coincidently the prior owner is also a forum member and I was able to make contact with him through this forum as to the cars history. Small world!

I've had a lot of BMWs over the years including three E92 M3s and two 335is. My last car was a LRPE M3 and I sold it to buy a 911, but I still haven't pulled the trigger on the 911. The M235i will be my DD.

Current Mod list

Recaro Performance Sport child seat - because kids
Volk G25 19x8 19x9 w/ PSS (bought from fellow forum member)
Performance Grills
F8X LCAs
Turner Performance Module

Future mods
OEM Splitter (car seems like it needs downforce)
OEM CF Spoiler
Maybe an exhaust, not sure yet
Trim of some kind - mine has wood and I hate it

One of the first things I wanted to do was address the lack of negative camber. I like to track my cars, so today I took the car up to Turner Motorsport to have the F8x LCAs installed and get an alignment. This made a huge difference. The front end is more stiff and provide more feedback, plus turn in is much sharper with the added negative camber. They were able to get -2.0 camber in the front which is great for a street car w/ out camber plates!

I also had them add their tuner module while I was there. The car feels so much more powerful now. It's very fast - faster than my E92 M3 I think. The ride home was a lot of fun!

I've noticed the car gets light in the front under hard acceleration. When you get on the gas it seems to dance around for a second before settling. The Turner guys said the front splitter will help with this, so this will probably be my next mod.

I have my first track day with this car scheduled for LRP in Sept. I will post my impressions then but as far as driving the car on the street, the car is fabulous.

And I got 31.0 mpg in echo mode for the 100+ mile trip to Turner Anyway here it is

Thank you sir! Happy to be here. These boards seem a bit more tame than the M3 boards I'm used to.

I've driven a few 911's and honestly - they scream baller status but the feel I get from that car is easily achievable in an M3.

It's not the lightest car, most engaging car, fastest car but a 911 is a 911 and will always add a solid 4 inches to your manliness.

I think I would have a hard time pulling the trigger on one...but I can't lie - I've thought about buying one for years (both CPO and Aircooled)...

It's just a tough pill to swallow for what you get vs some of the other cars available on the market.

M3/M4 if you want one all around car. 911 if you plan on having more than one car. I've driven a lot of 911s and it just a more focused sports car experience. They way it grips and puts down power is much diffrerent.

I don't really care about the baller status thing. I'm more interested in the driving dynamics of the car. I had 3 E92 M3s it's a great car no question but been there done that.

Baller Status is part of owning a 911 - a few others would give you driving dynamics for a fraction of the price...

When I get into a 911...I feel like I'm in a German glove engineered by the hands of god after a manicure. Driving feel is there too...but there is such a markup for the 911's (really anything Porsche) because it's the classic daily driver for Ferrari owners lol

The interior is amazing and the exterior is a work of art - hence the reference to baller status. It feels much more LUSH than anything that tries to rival it...and that's a feeling that's hard to pass up.

Are you still looking to buy a 911 or are you set with the M235?

Yea I'm shopping but holding out for the right car. I'm looking for a very particular build at the right price. I'm hoping to find a 991.1 C2S CPO in the low 80s. They're out there you just have to be patient. But yes I agree they're super expensive and not very practical as a DD for me. So I'll daily the 235i and keep the 911 as my track toy weekend car garage queen
