New M235i owner! Scratch already??
Picked up my M235i a few weeks ago and having so much fun it might be a little too much. Coming from an 02 Camry, not used to the power behind this yet. Excited to see what will come of it!!

As a side note, I was cleaning my car last night and I noticed a scuff mark on the right rear bumper. Not sure how I got it but any tips on how to remove it would be greatly appreciated!
I would attach a pic but right now my phone is not letting me click the attachment link. Thanks in advance! |

Wax may not be abrasive either through mechanical scrubbing or chemical action.
You may need isopropyl alcohol or a polish like Meguiars Scratch-X. But since you should always start with the least agressive method, a wash then wax should be the first step. |

http://www.amazon.com/Quixx-00070-US...ct_top?ie=UTF8 I had a 4" scratch (easy to see and feel with finger nail) in my rear bumper and the Quixx 2 step process took it right out. The scratch was through the clear coat, but not to the base coat. I did a lot of research before I picked this product and it's the only one which will remove scratches.

There are any number of non-abrasive and abrasive products that will remove scratches. Meguiar's makes many different scratch removers for example. Their cleaning waxes will remove extremely fine scratches. For slightly deeper scratches, the Scratch-X product that Scott mentioned is a good one. For deeper scratches, they have the #2 Fine Cut Cleaner, the #3 Medium Cut Cleaner, and the #4 Heavy Cut Cleaner. And then they have the compounds that professional detailers and body shops use. My son borrowed my previous motorcycle, which was in pristine condition, and he attached a magnetic tank bag on the tank to carry some stuff. After he removed the bag, I noticed the tank was full of fine scratches left by grit that was on his tank bag. I removed all of them by hand in about 20 minutes with Scratch-X and #2 Fine Cut Cleaner.

Congrats on the new car! I probably would have gone with the Mineral White rather than Alpine White if it didn't cost more.

According to the testers (including Consumer Reports- see below), only Quixx will remove those deeper scratches. http://www.detailxperts.net/blog/201...s-really-work/

If it makes you feel better I scratched my own car after I picked it up from the dealership. I have a single car garage and my prior 3 series could open the door all the way without hitting the wall. The 2 series with the longer door, not so much.
I probably stared at it for about 5 minutes without moving. I was able to buff it out in the end though. |

If you've got a decent relationship with either a detailer or body shop they should be able to buff it out for you in 5 mins NC.

Firstly, nice ride and congrats.
I hope it wasn't the damn dealer. Secondly, research doesn't consist of just Amazon or Wikipedia. Jk jk

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't had time to get to it yet, but here is the scratch. After skimming thru the comments I'll try to buff it out with wax myself first before I spend more than I need to.
