Can you confirm that the colour balance for the grey is correct in these photos? I am seeing a slight bluish overtone on these (as compared to a completely neutral grey) on my calibrated display. (The overtone looks terrific IMO.)
You have a sharp eye. There is a small tint of blue in Mineral Grey. Also, for some reason, the color looked about 5% lighter on this car than on the 4 Series on the lot. I'm guessing its just the way the sun hits the sheet metal.

The Mirrors and wheels work pretty well with MG. The wheels in most of the picture have a bit of brake dust on them

There actually a little lighter in color and their tone is less blue and more from silver / brown family. I was worried at first that they would clash with the blueish nature of MG but not bad and as you can see add a little dust and your all set.

Nice color.

Is there an oil temp gauge anywhere? Or in the Idrive?

These are the best pics of this color i have seen.

When i see Mineral Gray on the lot on a 3 series, it looks darker. In these pics it looks to be a completly different color on this car, a much lighter shade.

Anyone else see it this way?

For those of you in the west coast, seems like many dealerships are getting their M235i.

Just based off of instagram search, many dealers are posting pics.

For example, BMW of Portland

Where do Texas cars come from??

Are you in Dallas? I wonder which port the ships normally use for Texas deliveries. Galveston?

My dealership in NY said today that theirs is at the port awaiting transport, and they expect delivery within a few days/end of week.

This is the week all the dealer will get their Demo cars. It would be nice to add some other opinions to this thread.

Thanks for sharing. Was just in Portland a week ago for the Auto show. May have to bite the bullet and take the drive down from Seattle again if they are doing test drives. Hope its not snowing!

No test drive was allowed yet

Just came back from seeing the M235 in the flesh in Mineral Gray
And hated the color
I really wanted to like it, I was sold on MG on red interior as that combo is beautiful on the 4er
On the M235, it just looked dull, old and boring .. This car is meant to be fun and I think it will look better in a brighter more fun color.

I think I'm switching to Estoril Blue and I just want to know if that will work with Tera or clash?
I'm not into black interiors ...

Also, the top of the dash is not soft like others have indicated, rather it's a very hard plastic, much worse than the E90 or even my MK6 GTI

Otherwise car looks great in the flesh. I really hate car sales men who are not car enthusiasts.
The guy who was showing me the car started by saying "why not a 4 instead?" I think the 2er will continue to be a niche product especially if the sales people continue to push" customers into the 4er

I don't think BMW went for the "fun" look. I think they intended M235i to be a distinguished, almost stately looking luxury coupe for young doctors, lawyers etc: After all this is a classic, timeless 3-box design harking back to the 60s when 2002 was born. IMHO mineral grey is a good fit for such a design. And mineral grey is dark or almost space-grey bright depending on lightning conditions, the color has unusually wide dynamic range.

MG is very bi-polar. Under daytime overcast conditions it looks incredibly bland and boring... but walking up to it at night under parking lot flood lights it looks like a million bucks.

I doubt that it's "hard plastic" as in tupperware plastic. In all likelihood it's the same material from the F30 which if you barely press on it kind of seems like hard plastic but has some give to it when you really jam your finger into it.

Apart from who I bought my F30 from (and that was a long distance deal), I've never met one who is. Car sales is a revolving door so I have found few car salesman who ever know anything about what they are selling. It makes me hate test driving cars.

I am surprised by your comment on the dash - it is certainly better than my E82 - the guy waiting to get it to the M235 after me at the Chicago show even asked me why I was touching every panel and taking notes.

But I seriously thought it felt nice...difference of opinion I suppose !

even worse than the E90 dash? so if you tap your fingers or run them across the dash does it generate a hollow/scratchy sound from within? i drove a F30 loaner for a while and the dash didn't seem to be that much different from my E90, it's hard on the initial touch but if you press down on it it'll give almost like an extremely hard sponge(but a sponge nonetheless) i thought the 2 and F30 shared the dash no?

I think I saw a 2 on the drive home today. At first I was thinking "wow that 1 series doesn't look bad at all. That means the 2 would look quite a bit nicer." I saw that on the freeway (it was exiting). Then on the way back home I had a bright moment and a bulb went off in my head- "wait a minute! I think that WAS a 2! In MG color!!" I gotta admit, it looked pretty nice.

That's really strange that you say that.. I specifically checked the dash and it felt no harder than the dash on my E90 sedan. I thought it was quite nice actually it's definitely Not like in some of the early USA built VW Jettas.
