And the point of having these 2 cars together is??? So we can clearly see that they don't have absolutely anything in common besides the BMW logo?? Or maybe to highlight how much bigger and heavier BMWs have become since the 2002??

Beautiful 2002 BTW

Power to weight the 2 has an advantage though. Its nothing but nostalgia in this. They can dream that they are similar LOL

For the long run go out and buy an 02. In comparison to 1 or 2 series they are relatively inexpensive and you can work on them when they break.

I won't be rebuilding the engine on my 128i 40 years from now

BMW didn't take these photos. A magazine did.

The new 2-series is awesome but I would take the BMW 2002tii anytime. It's a collection car which will not fade away with time.

Sorry guys but I see some similarities between these tail lights that don't need any marijuana or whatever you call it.

I followed one of these Renault some days ago and just got what was weird about this new 2er.

Just my 2 cents after all

I couldn't agree more with this statement. From my perspective, the modern 3 series is just not doing it for the true enthusiast, but this 2 series seems to be fitting the bill. I never really fell in love with the 1 series shape but the more shapely 2 looks better. It would really wet my appetite when the M2 comes along.

And to the people's concerns about the automatics in the picture, I completely agree. Save the manuals:

2002 looks more like the E82 than the F22 simply because of the shape. Aside from that, even the E82 looks nothing like the 2002.

Lol the 2002's amazing size would make a tiny car like the E82/F22 look like a pig! I wonder how much worse it is next to a F30/32 or E9X.
