Spotted my twin today

So I walk out of the grocery store (cart full) to be confronted with my car being driven right in front of me. I was seriously thinking my car was being stolen! How am I going to give chase with a full cart of groceries? Until I took a look at the license plates and I was pretty sure they were not my numbers. I still followed down the parallel row until it parked, and a pretty lady got out. I wanted to complement her on her choice of car, but I couldn't get to the other row with the cart.

This is the only other 2-series I've seen since I got my car in April. What are the odds it would be exactly the same!

That's one reason mods are nice. There are just enough little mods done on our car that I doubt I'll ever see a "twin".

I haven't seen my cars twin. I'm guessing I probably never will given my color and options.

Nor have I. I haven't seen another M240i anywhere except the dealer's lot.

Since M235xi ragtops were only a 10 month production run, I doubt I'll ever see a twin to mine.

With BMWNA, typically selling less than 2K 2 Series a month it's not likely any of us will see many other 2 Series cars in our day-to-day travels, let along a "twin". In fact with 2017 sales on pace for only 12K +or- 2 Series models sold, the likelihood is even shrinking. Unfortunately, even with rave reviews from Autoweek, Car and Driver and most other automotive publications including a Consumer Reports "Best Buy" rating, our beloved 2 Series continues to be a very well kept secret.

Hopefully as the years go by there will be more on the road for people to see. And more for sell when people are looking.

To be honest I didn't know the 2 series existed until I went car shopping.

It depends on what you mean by 'twin', as Bill Clinton might have said.
Since the design has remained virtually unchanged in five model years, these cars do accumulate. In my neighborhood, where they are relatively plentiful, there is another Estoril Blue coupe with Terra interior, but it has an exhaust on one side only, a tell-tale sign that it is a fraternal twin at best.

These cars are rare at the beach. Jeeps not so rare, they are everywhere. Have not seen my twin in a vert only a coupe and the interior was black not oyster.

Here is SW Florida, "Bimmers" are as common as Camarys. Mostly 3 series (tons of them), with a fair amount of 7's. I imagine the heavy population of 3's is due to their low starting price (virtually the same as a 2 series car). Most figure why get a 2 when I can get a 3.

I see a number of the older 1's running around (mostly verts), but have yet to see a 2 series of any kind. M's are also rare and when I happen to see one, I leave a smidgen of drool on my shirt.

A new guy moved in to my building. He has the coupe version of my car. But he has the performance exhaust. Nice to see another 2 in condo garage
