Steering wheel noise
The middle section of my steering wheel (the plastic bar) makes a flexing / cracking sound whenever you touch it, as if the plastic doesn't line up correctly.
I've tried loosening / tightening the screw behind it but the annoying sound is still there. Anyone else find a solution to this problem? |

Same. It has gotten worse over time. To me it just seems like cheap plastic. I get creaking and popping all over the place, like when I press on the plastic in between the dashboard radio controls, when I push the iDrive knob (only sometimes), and when I push or pull a little bit on the steering wheel. It's obnoxious.

I don't understand why BMW would use so much cheap plastic on these interiors...especially considering how noisy it is. Just running your fingers across the plastic molding next to the driver's side and passenger side vents and you can hear nothing but cracking and what I can only assume is glue separating. But, back to the steering wheel, got any fixes? |
