Ordering delays?
I placed an order for a m235i 2 weeks ago and the CA told me the production slot was for this past week. I got a production number the day after I made the order, but since then the site/phone says production has not started.
My CA keeps saying all he sees is that it is scheduled, but with no completion date listed. I'm not even close to being worried, yet, but it seems from other info I read that the CA would know the exact date/slot it is set to begin. So the fact he keeps being vague seems a little fishy. Am I wrong? |

I placed an order for my M235 back in late March, and it took just over two weeks before production began. But once it started, they finished it in a week! So, I think you're fine.

Placed my order 4/15/15, received my production number immediately, and was told should enter production within a couple days (had allocation).
E-mailed CA a week after and was told production was pushed back an additional week because I added heated seats a few hours after submitting the order (totally fine, no big deal). E-mailed CA 2 weeks later (today, soon to be 3 weeks total), and was told that production start dates might be manipulated because I chose PCD. I was under the impression that PCD scheduling/delays were totally independent from production start dates so this raised a bit of a red flag. I called the tracking line and spoke with a rep who confirmed what I was seeing (scheduled for production, no confirmed date) and that she was seeing a potential week 22 start (May 31st). That would be a full 7+ weeks from order to start of production. Does anyone know if PCD affects production dates? And has anyone seen such a long gap from order to start of production? Did you request July 3rd or that was the earliest you were told you could pick it up? I was hoping to have my car here in NJ by the 3rd, not first getting on a boat.

Finally got my production number yesterday. No answer on why it took 6 weeks, I'm guessing the dealer had problem scoring additional allocation.

In any case, I got the unexpected good news that my car entered production yesterday (about 3 weeks from order to production).\ Unfortunately, the earliest PCD date offered was July 9. No way that was going to happen for me, so it was looking like August at the earliest. I opted to cancel PCD and might see the car now as soon as the end of this month. |

You guys have it easy, trust me. I'm stationed in GERMANY and I ordered mine on January 9th and received it on May 9th. Yup a 4 month wait and I'm already in Germany, LOL. Totally worth it though.
