I installed my front splitter in my garage.
First I put the front end of the car on jack stands to make it easier to get under the bumper of the car. Before I removed any adhesive tape, I did a test fit by sliding the splitter over the body work. Seeing the splitter in place helped me understand which screws need to be removed from the undertray. I marked the screw locations with a silver Sharpie and removed the test fit splitter and removed only the necessary screws from the undertray. The existing screws have captured washers that do not fit inside the screw wells of the splitter, so I opened the package of screws that came with the splitter. At this point you're ready to install the splitter. I cleaned the bumper surfaces where the adhesive strips on the splitter would make contact. Next I removed the protective film from the adhesive strips and slid the splitter into place and applied some pressure with my hands to make sure all the adhesive locations were stuck. Finally I used the supplied screws to attach the bottom surface of the splitter to the undertray. Step back and enjoy. Remove the jack stands and lower the care. Done! The hardware that came with the splitter did not work for me. The splitter came with phillips head screws that had the wrong pitch on the threads. Would not screw into the pinch nuts. I used the original screws. the stock outer two screws on each side fit fine. I trimmed the captured washer to fit on the center screws. Used car ramps to give myself more room. A 2x4 at the entry point on the ramps keep the front end from hitting on the way up/down them.

I'd like to also add this PDF to the DIY list
http://www.2addicts.com/forums/attac...1&d=1411568438 And.. as we're discussing splitters and I'm about to order one.. is it actually a requirement that you also install the carbon rear spoiler at the same time like the linked PDF states? I don't care about the spoiler - but I love the idea of replacing a $600 splitter every couple years to "fix" dings and scrapes.. |

No it's not necessary one bit. I will add it to the list shortly.

Hi all. I recently got the M Performance electronic steering wheel II. I'm not planning on DIY since I don't want the airbag to explode in my face. But for those interested in DIY and with better mechanical skills than me, here's a PDF file I found on the web for the installation.
