For what i know he's gotta get the slot first, every dealer have a number of slots. Or at least that's what my SA told me, anyhow there's a chance that he might be Bulls...ing me...

Took me two - three weeks or so to get my production number for June ED. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that your dealer is trolling you like you put it. Just keep contacting them every week and sit tight.

The dealer bs'ing you. The CA I dealt with logged into their dealer allocation site and showed me how many allocations they got and right in front of build the car. He showed me the the order production number and placed my name in it. My order is scheduled second week of May, there's always a chance it can go into production early, which I'm checking every couple of days calling the number to check status.

every dealer should know how many slots they have and when they can get the next car, etc
First they said 8-10 weeks for the car to get here meaning I'll be at the next few spots (this is during signing paperwork) then it became 8-10 weeks for just an allocation I know i might sound a lil rediculous but i guess theres no honest business now a days

It has to be tempting for dealers...let's say they give you a big discount then the next day someone walks in that is more profitable. It's a tough position for them to be in but a promise is a promise. Goes to trustworthiness, credibility and integrity.

Yeah when I was at the dealership, my dealer told me I would get the car in 8-10 weeks from date ordered (April 1st), and a production number at the end of that week. Cut to now, no production number and he's just "estimating" I'll get it by the end of this month. Also won't give me the same discount off MSRP if I wait until 2015 model. Not to mention my order is still wrong, as the the dealership can't seem to resolve that I don't want the All-Season Run-Flat tires. My first experience with BMW is not going well, and may just turn my off from them forever as my patience is wearing thin.

My guess is that this particular dealer doesn't do a tremendous amount of volume, and therefore has less spots in line as a result. Perhaps you got "bumped" from your spot in line or something...

Ordered my 228i Sport second week of February. Ordered it from BMW of Peabody MA. which had 228i allocation available for config. I was the first person to order a 2 series there. A mystery person ordered a black 235i after me and got his car before I got mine. Mine took more then 7 weeks to get to the dealership. It was fun to watch it get built and shipped.

Mine was also the second M235i the dealer got. But he got it from another dealer in Spokane that had the same owner. I got mine on March 31st.

Man I thought for sure we had the same dealer for a second. I was given the "M-Sport" takes longer to build line as well, though I'm getting a 228i. Didn't know it was on a boat until TODAY, which was 20 days after it was loaded on. Here's what I was told today:
"My view is attached. This is NOT what I saw last week! ETA to the CA port is 4/29. That put's it here on the ground around 5/15. (fyi: from the time the boat arrives it can take 7 days or 27 days) BTW: the phone # & web site you have access to isn't always accurate. They can be behind OR ahead of reality by several days. I don't like to make plans until I actually SEE it on the pavement here." If it takes MORE than 7 days after hitting Port Hueneme to get to the Seattle area I'll lose my mind. |
