You should try the PDK. It's amazing.

I have it on my 2011 C4S with sports chrono plus...pure bliss

Test drove a 2014 cayman 6spd yesterday. It is a brilliant car and I would own one in a heartbeat...as a second car. Absolutely pure driving experience (and plenty quick enough, even in base power). With sport mode engaged, the engine and exhaust sound in the cabin is incredible. Not as much steering feel with the new EPS however. Zero practicality as a DD.

The m235i is a good compromise for me. And $10k+ cheaper.

a porsche is a porsche, but comparing an '09 cayman to a brand new m235i for me is a no brainer.

that's because the m235i is:
• faster
• newer technology overall
• has 4 seats
• has a decent trunk space
• has warranty (4 yrs / 50k miles)
...just to mention a few.

with a 5 year old cayman, you don't know what's going to break and you know for sure it's gonna cost an arm and a leg if you need to have something repaired.

i would say save yourself the headache and go for the m235i. just my 2 cents, but of course, to each his own. hope this helps.

I have a 128 w/sport pk. Like the car enough that I was thinking of holding out for a "new" M235. I want something a little snappier and a bit more sport car but I am so drawn to the Cayman (possibly in my price range 2nd hand though...maybe around '09) and my wife really wants one. I read good things about that car.

So which is it......see where I am going with this. It's ok I have tough skin
I have two kids so Cayman is tough but I was at the Porsche dealer Thursday. Amazing build quality, purposeful interior. It has the lame display but it's low not on top of the dash. I'm sorry but if you can afford a Cayman and don't have too many kids, the Cayman is the one!

Love both these cars. Hands down Cayman better IMO but I have 2 children so IATA non starter, hence M235i on order now.

Was a no brainer for me. I need to carry two bicycles for my wife and me. M235i with a BMW rack was the only way to go.

And, when I go to a ride by myself, the bike fits in the back with the seats down.

Great drive and practical car.
