Poll: What kind of driver are you ?
Just curious and bored waiting for my new M235i.
What kind of driver are you ? 1 - Track regularly 2 - Track once in a while 3 - No track, daily driver with a lead foot and who enjoys good performance and likes to race off of red lights 4 - Daily driver who enjoys a balance of comfort + luxury + performance and doesn't give a shit about racing 5 - Daily driver who's just proud of the BMW badge and doesn't care about performance Surely, there is some overlap among the different types. So choose more than one if necessary Thanks !

Solid 3.8.... my foot gets heavy sometimes, and I work hard to ignore the allure of the track, as thats an expensive rabbit hole I really should avoid (no matter how much I want to)

I do one track day per year with my current Mustang. Still planning on going with the 235, but I do have a little apprehension about bringing a $50K car with a couple thousand miles on it (perhaps) to the track. It is hard on the car, and there is the risk of something bad happening... Other than the track day, I'm sort of a wuss on the street. I usually set the cruise control at 5 mph over the limit on the highway, so cars are passing me left and right (and usually glaring at me like I am a moron when they pass). But I will do my share of WOT runs on entrance ramps, look for the apex on exit ramps, occasionally shift hard into 2nd gear on full acceleration to get the rear end fish tailing, or sometimes get a little throttle oversteer going on a low speed 2nd gear 90 degree turn. So I'm a 4 most of the time, with the occasional wild streak.

I'm about a 2.75. I've got a burning desire for some track days but haven't taken the leap yet. |

I'll miss the practicality of the hatchback and the manual transmission (the one compromise for the wife). But can't wait to double the horsepower and all the other goodies.

I'm probably a 2.5. I have autocrossed and have found a couple of nearby tracks I want to try but haven't yet.

Just cause i think tracking a car once or twice a year doesn't do too much. But redlights I'm gone haha heavy foot driver. THE CAR IS MEANT TO BE DRIVEN THAT WAY! If not shoulda got a 3 or 4 series the luxury line. Just can't wait until summer so I can finally open it up! |

1. Did a dozen track days last year and hope to pick up the pace this year. Currently using my Cayman for track duties but will give the 228i a try at some point. I also spend a lot of time driving back roads on nice days. Not many opportunities lately though.
