The 240 loves to go on road trips - it's official. It rides smooth and feels comfortable even when it's 1800 miles.

You did 1,800 miles in one day on the 21st? Assuming you got at least a little bit of sleep, maybe stopped for a bite to eat or a bathroom break, you must have averaged nearly 100mph! Damn...

But yes, the car is very comfortable on road trips. I average about 2,000 mi/month at an average speed of about 35mph. Considering I don't drive it EVERY day (most, but not every), I'm in my car for about 3hrs a day most days. I've also taken it on several 6-8hr drives, and even a few 9-10hr drives. Most of that has even been in DSC Off mode; it's rare that I find a road that I actually want the softer suspension (North Conway, NH made me switch to Comfort Mode though!).

It really is a great little car!

Okay - to be slightly more clear - I left on the 21st around noon and arrived around 11pm the next day. I slept for 3 hours (in the car) and stopped only for gas. It was an incredible road trip.

I have to agree, my m235i vert is a great road trip GT. My dad has had a few health issues lately so I made two trips from KY to Southern WI in December, up and back in less than 48 hours each time. The car is very comfortable cruising at 75 mph with stops only for gas, which are a bit too frequent due to the tiny gas tank. Fortunately dad is doing better so hopefully I won't have to make the trip again any time soon.

Glad to hear your dad is doing better. I do agree with the tiny gas tank - it can add a bit to you trip depending if you're doing a lot of miles. That said, I think the fuel mileage indicator might be a bit conservative.
