230 Exhaust system (Dinan)

Does anyone know if the exhaust system that Dinan came out with is any good? From the videos on youtube (330i soundclip), it doesn't seem that much louder. I'd ask to see if the Dinan midpipe for the 240 would be adjustable to fit onto my 230 as well.

I didn't want to go the Supersprint route because of money, and I do not like the sound of the 2 series with a res/muffler delete.

Any thoughts?

Post in your local section and see if anyone has one you can listen to. 2 would be ideal but hell even post in the 3 section lots more of them than there are of us and that's close enough to be a big help to you.

Or call your local BMW / Dinan installer and ask them if they can ask a client to meet you one day.

Just put Dinan on my M235IX. Sounds great and definitely "louder" but not in a bad way. No doroing, just sound of a performance engine. ASD coded off.

Was there a drastic difference in sound? Again I have a 230, so the stock exhaust is far more quiet than I would've liked. Trying to go for a midpipe and the exhaust to spruce it up

YES--its louder and a much throatier character. My car has the N55 so I can not speak for the 4 cylinder sound. I do not have a midpipe.

Dinan has been doing exhausts for a long time. They are pricey but I think they get it right.

I have a friend ( who gave me my Dinan system) who is probably taking a brand new MPE off his M2 to regain that Dinan sound.

I saw someone the other day with a stock 440 exhaust on his 230 (or 228 i forget). Sounded amazing! Not too loud... just enough for audible feedback.
