Engine fan on OVERTIME!

Just looking for some advice.

On my way home from work, what sounded like a loud fan noise begun coming out the engine bay. I carried on my way, and then noticed the car was down on power quite a bit.
There was no errors showing, so carried on until I got home.

Looking online, sounds like it may be the water pump?

I thought so. Seems it's recommended I change the thermostat at the same time?
