Does anyone know if there are any EaS 'equivalents' in the greater NYC area who do mods like this?

Is it me or is the bottom left corner not aligned properly?
Those with OCD will understand. Otherwise, well done.

I noticed that too. It is nice, but that would drive me crazy.

Installed today, very DIY

I installed the gauge today. It is not that difficult to do and like Tom from EAS stated, very DIY. You need a #25 torx driver, 10mm socket, a small flathead(2mm blade), trim removal tool and patience. The instructions won't hurt either, even if they come from the F30. Just pay attention because the F30 and F22 are not an exact match. Luckily the wires are color coded and make the differences easy to spot. It took about an hour as advertised, even if I was very careful removing the trim. As a disclaimer I do work on electronics as a job, but this is no different than installing a car stereo.

Did you take any pictures during the process...I have mine sitting in the garage. I'm still debating whether to install.

pictures are in the instructions

I talked to Brian at EAS and explained that I bought the gauge from them and needed install instructions. He talked to the installer and emailed me the instructions for the F30. There are pictures of process are in the file. The only differences are that there is only one light connector to disconnect on the tray under the glove box, the COM 2 and 3 are reversed between the F30 and F22 models. But like I stated earlier, the wires are color coded (connectors are also color coded) and there are only 5 to deal with spread over three connectors(2-COM 3, 2-COM 2 and 1-COM 10). The pin locations are clearly marked and easily removed. As for the trim, if you follow the instructions and do it in the correct order, you might not need the panel removal tool. Firmly pull up the door trim and tap to reinstall at the end. I pulled the vent out with my hands, as it is only held in with clips. The cost was $849 from EAS. The only reason I didn't post the file is that there was confidentiality statement at the end of the email that said I couldn't redistribute it. I suggest you give EAS a call on Monday and they should be able to help you out.

Finished Pics

I know it doesn't help the install process, but here are pics of the finished product. As for losing the vent, I live in Florida with temps in the 90's every I really don't notice the difference in cooling the car.

Does this have teh ability to display speed digitally in KPH? Im debating this or http://www.p3cars.com/bmw-1-series/p...tal-interface/. I would really like the ability for digital seed readout as well as monitoring functions.

AWRON is German so I'm guessing yes

Here's an overview of the M4 display, which is similar to the 2-Series variant:

At approximately 1:50 you can see the configuration menu, in which MPH/KPH is accessible.

It looks like there is some delay/lag in the gauge? Especially when looking at the torque output in that video

I'm curious as to where they're pulling the oil temp info, in this wired setup, since it apparently isn't available through the OBD port.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but does this really not work with the JB4?

Awron is fully compatible with JB4.

Perfect! I don't know why someone posted earlier in this thread saying it wasn't. Thanks Tom appreciate you clarifying that.

Though it may work with it I believe what they meant which I am curious about as well is that since the JB4 tricks the car the values we would see for boost and such would not be accurate, since these values would be read by what the CPU sees.

Thanks!

Temp is only scratching the surface of available features. Click the video above to see the full list of options and see it in action.

Exactly. Since the JB4 manipulates values, the gauge will only report what the ECU is seeing, making it no longer compatible.

A proper flash tune and the Awron display would be the best of both worlds.
