I got em...use em to chuck at my kids when they are being ornery in the back seat! That will teach em to not put their hands on each other!

Yep, no cost. Dealer was very nice about it. Especially after I mentioned this to the BMW corporate rep that called me in regards to my survey responses...

Hmmm, took delivery of my M23i here at a San Diego area dealer last week, and I did NOT have cup holder inserts at all, like our frozen neighbors to the north. I picked up the car the same day it arrive, and all kinds of little extra things were there (lockable lug nuts, tie down net in trunk, small tool kit and air compressor in trunk well, etc) but no cup holder inserts. My CA says that they are not standard, and the only 228 on the lot did not have them either. Perhaps this is a MY 2015 thing?

Is there a place online where they can be purchased? Do they have a part #?
Edit: Found the part #'s available at Turner Motorsport. They are: 51169257207 and 51169257208. Each costs $15, not bad. Last edited by CF22; 09-13-2014 at 12:29 AM.. |

Have them on my car (220i), my sales rep removed the left one and put it in the glovebox when I picked it up. Think the one on the right is handy with the key holder. I have all my keys together so kinda annoying having them in my pocket

I can confirm my 2015 M235i didn't have them and I didn't even know it was a thing until I came here lol. Honestly, not missing them on the car, but I do like they way look.

Just picked up my 2015 M235i this weekend in San Diego, CA. No inserts. The dealer did say they could order them for me and have them shipped to me. I would prefer to have them because I believe they have a small compartment that's made for the key fob, and since I don't have comfort access I generally have my key in my hand when entering my car.

Bought mine here in Italy and they came with them. I don't really drink in the car so they stay in there full time. I think they look nice and as another poster said I like how my key fob fits into it, as well as the gate opener to the house. If I need to take one out I just place it in the plastic "storage" area in the back seat since it's only temporary.

Another update....after more research, BMWNA said they were taken out for all 2015 models and they will not replace them as a "goodwill" nor for any other reason, but suggested I could re-buy what previously was standard. They continue to be installed in Europe as standard.
I happen to think they look nice, so if anyone has them in a closet, or doesn't want them, please feel PM me. |

Kind of a ridiculous question but can someone post a photo with them inserted and removed? From the photo in the original post, I can't tell if that is with them or not. I will be getting mine in 2 weeks and I am not sure if I should bug my dealer to get me a set when my car arrives.

I'm kinda bummed my car didn't come with them but oh well I figure I can maybe grt them online but I'm kinda used to not having them right now it's not such a big deal. I would just like it being theres no drinks or food allowed in my car and I'd have a good spot to put my key
I have a 2015 and I guess they rent made for a 2015 Last edited by NY10; 10-23-2014 at 02:27 PM.. |
