XM Radio Speaker pop

I've noticed when I listen to XM radio my speakers make a slight popping sound everyone once in a while.

I thought my speakers were going bad but I can confirm this does not happy on any other input (FM Radio, iPhone media, Pandora, Amazon Music all sound fine).

Has anyone had anything like this happen before?

There have been reports of this problem on several websites:

Haven't had this issue on 2016 228i convertible or my 2013 335i sedan. I don't listen to satellite radio any more, since you can pretty well set your watch by what song is playing. Same playlist over and over and over. Not worth the subscription price after the free year is up - but then, I'm only interested in music, and not in "talk radio".

My car is at bmw trying to get this fixed but after replacing the head unit and trying to update the software I am getting it back with no solution tomorrow. BMW is aware of it but does not have a solution yet.

I have the same problem on my 2015 m235i. They said they could recreate it. However it is intermittent and only happens on XM. It happens a lot. I just got used to it. Sounds like course sand hitting the A pillar metal. I'm surprised it still happens on the latest model year m235i.

My 2015 M235i does it too. Very annoying! I didn't listen to XM very much untill after I installed the JB4. I always wondered if the JB4 was causing the noise via the OBDII port, I guess not. My subscription ran out and I didn't renew it.
