Are AS/3 still the standard all-season recommendation?
Popped one of my Pirelli P7s on saturday after hitting a pretty bad pothole. 20k miles on the tires, and probably needing to replace as a matched pair has me thinking about just going ahead and replacing all 4 with non-runshits now.
AWD in new england, has to be at least usable in the winter (doesn't need to be great). Not interested in doing a summer/winter split. Seems like AS/3 are still a go to recommendation, and should perform as well or better than the P7s (which I'm not unhappy with). Anything else to consider, or just go for AS/3? |

I went right to as/3. Love them. Dramatic improvement over p7s.
I am a big Michelin fan so really did not look at other options but I still think they are considered the top all season tire for sport oriented vehicles. I have used Conti DWS 06s on other cars and liked them a lot. That is probably the only other viable option. Last edited by emtrey; 04-22-2018 at 05:51 PM.. |

I have both on different cars and the As3+ is my strong preference.

Then I just put the AS3+ on the E46 and based on that a few weeks later went to an 18" on Apex EC7 on my F23. The E46 though we went down to 17" ARC8 Apex from the ZHP 18" wheel. All that is to say I've driven both tires on 17 and 18 and prefer the French rubber.

28% better snow traction according to Michelin. How they came up with that % I don't know. I think it's closer to 29.9%...why not? Anyway, reports from drivers confirm improved snow performance with the A/S 3+.
