First off, I'm really, really enjoying my car. It makes me smile every time I drive it.

Having said that, I think BMW came up short on the Sports Display. The HP and Torque "gauges" are cool, but it could be much improved by adding Coolant Temp, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Boost (turbo). I'll bet this could be accomplished with a Firmware/Software upgrade to the car.

another HUGE con: where the hell is my blind spot vehicle detection? don't see 1 single reason not to have it. i paid for all hardware that requires that functionality, obviously i expected to have it, as well as active cruise control. this is really bad of BMW. my audio gets crazy annoying, very unstable via BT, unstable even via USB - disconnects sometimes. my old style external BT receiver in my 2007 335i did a much much better job for $15 (!!!). also my front wheels make unnatural noise at wvery bump, i am going to report it to a dealer, but has anyone noticed anything similar?

My complain is the scroll wheel on the steering wheel, the useless cruise control on the left has a better scroll than the right...arghh

I agree...and I hate that the steering wheel volume controls are +/- buttons but then theres a useless scroll wheel there too. The volume button should be the scroll wheel, would make sure more sense (that's how my Audi had it, plus a volume knob on the center column which was great).

BTW my glovebox also feels sturdy and well made, no complaints there.

The sun visors on the other hand, wow, they feel super cheap.

My wife also hates that there is no "oh shit" handle to grab onto.

I actually really like the audio controls. I find the wheel so useful I haven't had to program any presets for radio stations. I just really really wish the audio was on the left hand side of the wheel.

Two possible reasons for this: (1) the engine will restart if you let up even ever so slightly on the brake pressure, as if anticipating your intent to start moving; (2) a/c compressor needs to turn back on cause your supply of cool air is almost exhausted. This is my second car with auto start/stop and I like it--don't care to burn gas going nowhere. Not so bad here in NM, but when I lived in San Jose it really would have come in handy. One of these days I'm going to do a test to see how much difference it really makes, but psychologically it's feels good. Car mags complain about the "shudder" but they do that with every car that has it--it's no worse than the initial start-up so I think they're exaggerating as usual. Had to find something to dislike!

The scroll wheel makes sense if you have HUD. When you press it in, the station you are listening too (or any media that is currently playing) displays on the windshield. You can then scroll to the next track or station as you wish, then press in again to select. It's really cool. HUD is one thing I'll miss when I get a 2 after the lease is up on my 328i.

Another small gripe, the garage door buttons only work if the car is on. In my families other cars with this tech the homelink(or whatever) works anytime you push the buttons.

Intentional security feature. If your car is parked in the driveway and someone breaks into it, they still cannot open your garage door. I've had the other setup as well, and it is a tradeoff of convenience for security.

Yeah the wheel works for the same but instead of on the HUD, the menu scrolls between the gauges. Still would rather control the volume and the buttons could be for going through menus.

More of a question really,
How "tight" is this car, meaning does anyone have any creaks or rattles yet. I know it's a performance car with a stiffer suspension but we shouldn't have to tolerate these annoying noises.
My 09 328i w/ sport pkg and non-run flat tires is very noisy on a hot day... Cheap plastic that pops and creaks when I turn the a/c on

Just wondering about the M235i's built quality...especially the plastics.

So far have not noticed and creaks or pops with my car. 2 weeks in, and feels very tight.

just wanted to report on my multimedia problem.

this problem is exactly the same using a cable. keeps disconnecting. 100% not an iphone problem. i used this same ios and same iphone with the old car, never had an issue. USB keeps disconnecting the music too, extremely annoying, destroys all the driving pleasure totally. i dont know if i can wait until 1200 miles, will probably go to the dealer tomorrow to report a problem and ask them to fix.

what is even worse, disconnects are totally random, time inbetween disconnects is totally unpredictable, therefore it is even harder to say what causes it.

i so don't want to guve a car to repair, as our mechanics in sofl are total garbage, i know more than they do. only hope they don't make it worse, and don't scratch my car or leave oil spots inside while repairing (happens all the time)... oh boy, so upset.

I took delivery today so dont know what bugs me yet but with about 100 miles driven, I already know these brakes are horrible at braking! I cant believe such low performance creates so much dust!
Granted, I have upgraded brakes on the E46 but the m235 feels like when the E46 pads are on the way out.

I guess the other thing - not sure if it bothers me yet - but that little kick forward when you down-shift is new....
