The M235i is not a M car, so it's not included in the M School program. Regarding the M3/M4 that has not been confirmed, but will give an update if I hear anything.

A rough translation fro the One Lap rules; a car running in the stock class may use any component/accessory available for purchase from the dealer and in the manufacturers parts catalog for that particular vehicle. Only wheels, tires, brake material are free.

You can view the Stock Touring class with this link: Stock Class Results

What brakes are you guys running (I heard them squealing pretty loud off the drag strip so assume they are not stock) and are you running the PSS tires?

Again, is this car an auto or manual?

This is cool to follow. It reminds me of my last car - Neon SRT4 finished 7th overall in 2003 with Mopar Perf parts some of which became standard on the '04.

The pads we are running are a development set from a manufacturer (not BMW), and we are running PSS tires. The car is an 8 speed automatic.

The automatic makes perfect sense since they're competing. Why handicap yourself? You know no one else in the field is going to say to themselves, "Gee, I think I'll run a manual in this competition for the feel and experience, even though it won't help me delivery better, more consistent lap times."

So for the M School in two weeks, will it be limited to the M5/M6, or are there still any M3s and 1Ms being used?

No offense, but this seems like it's probably a question for the M School folks, doesn't it? Steve's team is sponsored by the Performance Center, but I don't think they're in customer service

We spent the second day of this year’s event at Memphis Motorsport Park, running two time trials, a drag race, and bracket drag.

Located north of the city, Memphis Motorsport Park is a combination road course and drag strip, with a separate oval thrown in for good measure. The road course is 1.8 miles long with 8 turns and 3500 ft. long straightaway. This was the first time One Lap had returned to this track since 2003, so for most this was a new experience.

The road course time trials consist of three timed lap starting from a standing start with four to five cars running at a time, each car starting 30 or more seconds behind the one in front.

Both of our session we well with a 4:01.2 placing us 20th for the first session and a 3:59.826, good for 23rd in the afternoon session.

Here’s a video of the morning’s run.

After a short delay while the track was reconfigured, we began the drag races The first run was a straight drag race with second and any subsequent runs been bracket races.

For the first run Mike beat fellow BMW competitor Robin Sparrow in his E92 M3, but as he admitted his reaction time wasn’t too good, so it’s not really a fair comparison, but anyway it makes for good viewing

On to the bracket drag and we go through the first round, but lost in the next to Andy Hollis’s Honda CRX.

After our elimination we packed up and continued our drive south on I-40 and I-55 heading for our overnight halt at the Crowne Plaza Airport hotel in New Orleans, where we arrived around 11:00pm.

So at the end of the day we were 13th overall, first in SSGT2 and Stock Touring classes.

I understand his role in relation to the Performance Center, but it doesn't hurt to ask someone who might have access to thr sort of information. With the M235i, the new M3/4, and the 1M and E90 M3 phasing out, M School is in a bit of a transition phase and I'm curious what vehicles will be available for the class in two weeks.

Good-luck and great start!

Don't worry, the 350hp VW will break before the end

As soon as I saw this thread I knew the car would have the LSD that no real customers are able to purchase.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed this.
