First BMW X7 Prototype Spotted?
BIMMERPOST NEWS First BMW X7 Prototype Spotted? Are we looking at the first spotted prototype of the upcoming BMW X7? This heavily camouflaged large BMW SAV certainly looks to be large enough. And now that BMW has officially confirmed that the X7 is in the pipeline, the timing also makes sense. The X7 will feature a longer wheelbase (than the X5) and feature true 3 row seating to accommodate 7 people. It will share engines, technology and engineering with the next generation G11 7 Series, including the potential use of carbon fiber in its construction. The X7 will join the rest of the X model lineup in being built at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Photos via moniteurautomobile |

My wife drives a Q7. If this thing has good 3rd row seats (better than Q7/GL), it might be time to trade Q7 for X7
Now question is, price wise, will it compete with X5/Q7 or be 15K+ more?

I was expecting it to be similar to the GL (in terms of shape) but this looks more like a German Toyota Sienna...

This is an X5. You will know the X7.
It is the Airbus A380 of the BMW X line.

Hopefully the odd look might be part of the plan to deceive the competitors in terms of look, hopefully it looks much better!

There are still older prototypes still testing technology like the 9 Speed Auto Transmission , B series engines etc... and in this case this is the X5 eDrive model that will be officially launched in the Summer.

I'm sure it will be great. I'd love one to tow a race car trailer.

Sorry Norbert, I call BS.
If it is an X5 testing new drivetrain components only, why the FULL CAMOUFLAGE covering every square inch of the car?!?!?? I don't need to completely wrap the car to hide a transmission, electric motor, or battery. This is either a BMW minivan, or X7. |
