Set "sport mode" as default
I found m235 shows it's best behavior in "sport mode", does anyone know how I can make it as default mode? ( upon starting the engine)

I agree with you 100%. Tried to search for how to do that for a while and found that it must just not be possible. Just got used to pushing the sport button right after the start button.

I'm with you guys about the sport mode. I do, however, let my car warm up a couple miles before I switch it over.

Coding can change that.

This is fact - no coding exists to default to Sport mode.

What's the point of driving around on city streets in sport mode? It's fun when you have someplace to roam. But otherwise you are just using more gas to get to the next light. Just wondering?

Same point as buying the car in the first place....it feels better...throttle response, steering...what a BMW should always feel like (at least a modern one saddled with electric steering!). Maybe it depends how you define "city"....trying to get crosstown in Midtown Manhattan, I guess you're better off walking anyway. Cities out here still allow for lots of enjoyment on every street.

Not only that, but keep in mind that the majority of 2 Series owners aren't driving their cars around like [insert favorite race car driver here] and all. From that point of view (which, I'll reiterate, is the majority point of view), pliability should be the default.
"Comfort" is a good standard setting - and the safe one for plebes. Get over having to hit one button once when you start your car.

I only drive my car in sport with the shifter to the left. Car feels much better, shifts are better, not to mention it sounds like pure sex. The only time I'll switch out of sport is if I'm desperately low on gas and want to use the eco pro coasting function to make sure I don't get stranded!

P.S. Cruising isn't so great. Have not been able to get comfortable for long trips. My Volvo C70 was better. This is more fun to drive though. |

The exhaust note. It's a tie between that and the firmer steering for me.

This is true. However, because of the different shift points. There is no way that you are not using more gas. I'm going 40 and change to comfort and and the rpms go way down.
