I'll give it a try when I grab lunch to verify. My one question though is if the shifter was slid over to the left towards the driver. If you just pull a paddle without moving the shift level in the full manual position the car will eventually override the gear as it reverts back into automatic mode.

Sorry I wish I knew the answer for the the M235i, but I assume it operates the same way.

That's a nice improvement - the DCT in my 135 won't do that...

Cool let me know. Thanks for giving it a try. I am not sure he had the shifter slid to the left. I just know he pushed the button for sport +.
Yea i am assuming it will be the same setup as the 335i Msport. But never know. With all these different models its hard to keep up with all the features.

Just got word my car arrives at the port on the 25th.

Only performance parts currently available for install at the port are:

Grilles
Shifter
Steering wheel
Mirror Covers

If only this damn snow would melt...

Would it still be possible for me to get the kidney grills or will I need to wait until I take delivery of the car and then order them separately at this point?

My M235 is currently in transit to the port of exit and since the grills are port installed, I thought there may be a chance. I'll try to ask my CA later but if anyone has any experience with this, that'd be awesome.

I just told my dealer today that I wanted the grilles.

Love my MG 135. Kind of stumbled on it, as it was the only 2013 left WA or OR. Amazing color that looks even better in person.

That's not how I remember it. 2002's were practical and FUN! They came in bright colors such as the orange one they feature in the new M235i commercial.
I remember greens and reds and blues and yellows. A Rolls Royce is supposed to look "stately". An M235i is all about fun IMO. Bring on the colors!

I agree with AlpineF31 comments. The orange one in the ad is actually called "Inka". I had a '72 2002 in "Colorado" yellow, and a '74 one in "Mint Green". There was also Verona Red, Chamoix white, and some other bright colors. "Stately" is not a word I would use to describe the 2002.

Looks good in black. I think I'm hooked...

Was the black a really metallic black or a jet black?

Thanks a lot for sharing this. I may have to scout out the dealer to see if I can drive one. I really like that color on the 2. I bet it looks even better in person. Very sophisticated looking.

Here is what I discovered. If you are in manual mode with the shifter in the left position, the transmission will only downshift if you activate the kick down feature on the gas pedal. You can floor the car and it won't downshift as long as you don't activate the kick down. I did a few pulls in 6th gear from 1200 RPMs with no downshifts.

Good review. Plan on getting one at the end of the year...

Silver mirrors are dumb, I'll be forced to do Carbon Mirror Caps, or removing them and going with Black ones, if I do Carbon Accents I might as well go all out on the exterior.

"Inka" is the predecessor to Fire orange, another fun BMW color.

Do you think they'll have limited slip as an available option by next month? Still don't see that available on the site.

My pleasure. Glad I could help out!

The kick down feature is on the gas pedal. Once you floor the pedal you'll find a resistance point. If you push past that kick down is activated. The car will immediately drop to the lowest gear. It's very useful in situations where you are cruising and need maximum power immediately.

It was black sapphire. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's son bought the car this morning.
