If it's any consolation, I did a poll recently, to figure out what kinds of drivers people are. Most, including me, are daily drivers who simply appreciate performance and luxury. Not everyone here is mechanically inclined or mods their cars.

I'll try to come up with more "reading material"

18mph? Hehe, just wait til you see it on docking day.

When my ship entered the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore on the final day, it was crawling at around 8mph. I think I could have ran faster to the dock than the ship.

Hey elincali, I thought of something kinda cool ... reading material that you might find interesting.

I learned most of what I know about cars from http://auto.howstuffworks.com. It is a fabulous website that explains stuff very well so even non-engineers can follow and understand. They have images and Flash animations to illustrate concepts.

Yup, Eng Exp is great ! I love his car reviews the most - he is by far, the best car reviewer on YouTube IMHO.

The new one is a Liquid Blue (UCLA color) 435i Coupe manual trans. It's our 4th, the others are/were: '79 Fjord Blue 320i stick (retired); '90 Glacier Blue 325i stick; '03 Toledo Blue 530i stick shift. You may discern a color preference.

The other options are unremarkable (HK sound, premium pkg, backup camera).

Yes. Already ordered a umbilical cord for future use. Worst case scenario, I've got AAA and will have the M235i flatbed to the local BMW dealership.

The ships slow to 8 knots or so right off the Virginia Beach shoreline, but pick it back up to 16 once they pass Cape Henry. If they didn't, I would have missed my photo op! They still make decent progress.

I might as well just keep tracking this thing obsessively ... it's what relieves my anxiety best.
